LAURIE SCHULTZ HAYES

Dr. Laurie Schultz Hayes came to Canada as VP (Academic), Provost and Professor of English at Lakehead University. Previously, she held academic and administrative positions in the United States at Colorado State University, the University of Minnesota, Gustavus Adolphus College, and the University of Wisconsin. She is a teacher of rhetorical and communication theory, and a researcher of religious, political and technical controversy. Her awards and honours include: Distinguished Service Award (Council for Programs in Technical and Scientific Communication), Outstanding Service (Academic Programs Sections Board on Agriculture, National Association of State Universities & Land Grant Colleges), Alumni of Notable Achievement (University of Minnesota), Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi.

EDGAR SCHMIDTKE

Edgar Schmidtke is Manager of Business Development at Thunder Bay International Airports Authority. He is also a former Manager of Commercial Services at Thunder Bay Airport (Transport Canada). His community involvement has included serving as past Chair of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce, inaugural Chair of the Thunder Bay Community Economic Development Commission and as a former Director of the International Association of Accredited Airport Executives Canada. Mr. Schmidtke holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba.

PETER BISHOP

The Honourable Peter Bishop has been a Judge of the Ontario Court of Justice since 1994. Prior to this appointment, he practiced criminal, family and civil litigation with Bishop & Bishop. His community involvement includes serving as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 102 Building Committee, member of the Red Lake District Lions Club, and past president of the Red Lake Economic Development Corporation. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Geography, a Bachelor of Education degree, and a law degree from Queen's University.
