Licence Appeal Tribunal (Tribunals Ontario)


Sara Mintz is the Alternate Executive Chair of Tribunals Ontario, and the Associate Chair of the Licence Appeal Tribunal, Child and Family Services Review Board, and Custody Review Board. Ms. Mintz joined Tribunals Ontario as a part-time member of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board and CFSRB/CRB in 2019. She was appointed the Associate Chair of the CICB and successfully led the Board’s wind-down. Prior to joining Tribunals Ontario on a full-time basis, Ms. Mintz was a sought after matrimonial lawyer, providing her strategic insights and skilled advocacy to clients for nearly two decades. A graduate of the concurrent business and law program at the Richard Ivey School of Business and the Faculty of Law at Western University, Ms. Mintz has written and presented on a variety of issues at professional seminars. She is an active volunteer with charitable organizations. In her spare time, Ms. Mintz enjoys playing and watching sports, and has a fondness for animals.


Sandeep Johal is a former member of the Ontario Parole Board and previously worked as a lawyer and mediator practicing in the areas of litigation, tax law, real estate, and corporate/commercial law. Mr. Johal is former director and treasurer of the Canadian Association of South Asian Lawyers (CASAL) and the President of the Global Assistance Foundation of Canada. Mr. Johal also dedicates his time as a coach helping young children to develop their skills and passion for ice hockey with the Brampton Hockey League and is also a coach with the Coaching and Advisor Network (CAN) of the Law Society of Ontario helping other lawyers develop best practices and to help maximize their personal and professional potential. Mr. Johal is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales.


Robert Maich serves as a member (part-time) for the Health Unit Board- Windsor-Essex County, Human Resources Professionals Association. He is a Barrister & Solicitor for Robert Maich, and a former Chief Executive Officer for MHL Limited. His community involvement has included serving as Director for Rotary Club of Windsor.


Neil Levine is a consultant with more than 20 years of experience in business strategy, strategic communications, and public policy. He has planned and implemented award-winning stakeholder relations, marketing, and communication strategies at one Canada’s leading communication agencies and at some of Canada’s largest organizations. Most recently, he worked at Canada’s largest chamber of commerce, and prior to this at the Government of Alberta. Over the course of his career, Neil has worked closely with executives, elected officials and senior civil servants in developing and communicating public policy at all levels of government. He earned an MBA from the University of Alberta and a MA in Political Science.


Lindsay Lake has been an Adjudicator with the Licence Appeal Tribunal, the Animal Care Review Board and the Fire Safety Commission since 2018. Prior to this role, Lindsay was a Municipal Prosecutor and Solicitor with the Corporation of the City of London and was also a part-time Adjudicator with the Landlord and Tenant Board. Lindsay completed her B.A. in Women's Studies at Western University and her LL.B. at the University of Windsor. Lindsay has also completed the Osgoode Hall Law School of York University's Certificate in Adjudication for Administrative Agencies, Boards and Tribunals and the Advanced Certificate in Adjudication. Lindsay teaches the Tribunal Practice and Procedure Course at Fanshawe College in the Paralegal Program, is a member of the Family Advisory Council of the London Health Sciences Centre (Children's Hospital), and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Regional HIV/AIDS Connection and Victim Services of Middlesex-London.


Nancy Aquilina is a mediator and a full-time Vice-Chair with the Licence Appeal Tribunal. Previously, she was an Arbitration Settlement Officer with ADR Chambers, a Mediator with the Information and Privacy Commissioner and the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. She has also served as Dispute Resolution Officer with the Ministry of the Attorney General. Ms. Aquilina holds a Masters in Conflict Analysis and Management from Royal Roads University and an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree from York University. She is the founder of Community Conflict Resolution Services of Halton and served as president. She also served on the board of Community Justice Alternatives of Durham.


Tyler Moore is an experienced chiropractor, business owner, and adjudicator. He established and directed a large multi-disciplinary health centre and conducted independent medical examinations before being appointed as a medical member with the Office of the Commissioner of Review Tribunals. In 2013, he was appointed to the Social Security Tribunal where he adjudicated CPP disability and OAS appeals. Dr. Moore holds a B.Sc. (Hon) degree in kinesiology and diploma in medical acupuncture from McMaster University, as well as a doctorate of chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.


Brett Todd is currently serving his third term as mayor of the Town of Prescott. He has an extensive background in municipal government and has served as the chair of the Eastern Ontario Mayors' Caucus (EOMC) and as a member of the Eastern Ontario Regional Network (EORN) board, amongst other boards and agencies. He has worked as a writer and editor for numerous publications and has degrees from Trent University.


Jeffery Campbell is a lawyer for Campbell Law Professional Corporation. Jeffery’s community involvement includes serving as a founder for Kent Park Community Homes.


Avril Farlam is a lawyer, Deputy Judge of the Small Claims Court of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, a Vice Chair of the Ontario Licence Appeal Tribunal, former chair of the CPP/OAS Administrative Review Tribunal and City of Windsor Hearing Officer. Ms. Farlam holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor Law School. Ms. Farlam has served on the Council of the Ontario Bar Association and the Board of Directors of the Society of Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators, and serves on the Education Committee of the Ontario Deputy Judges Association. Ms. Farlam has taught Advocacy at the Law Society of Ontario Bar Admission Course, taught at St. Clair College and sponsored a student scholarship through the Women's Law Association of Ontario.


Terence Hunter is a sheep farm operator in Simcoe County. He is a former Executive Director with Community Legal Clinic Simcoe and Community Legal Services of Niagara and a former Lawyer with Lanark, Leeds and Grenville Legal Clinic. Mr. Hunter's community involvement includes having served as Chair of City of Welland Task Force on Housing and Aids Niagara. Mr. Hunter was also the founding board member for various anti-poverty groups in Welland. He holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees from York University.


Geneviève Painchaud is a bilingual Communications consultant and real estate representative with extensive community involvement through her work as a Board Director at the Law Society of Ontario, and until recently, the Law Commission of Ontario, the Ontario Arts Council and Ontario 211 Services. She is an adjudicator on the hearing and appeals divisions of the Law Society Tribunal and a Vice Chair of the Licence Appeal Tribunal. Her past employers include Trimark Mutual Funds (Invesco) and Bell TV, and as a Professor at College La Cité in the Business Faculty.


Monica Ciriello has practiced law in both the public and private sector. Monica also contributes as an author for the International Municipal Lawyers Association. She is an active volunteer in her community supporting a variety of charitable organizations.


Elizabeth Louise Logan is a Vice-Chair at the Licence Appeal Tribunal and President of Logan & Associates Inc. Louise holds a Masters in Administrative Law from Osgoode Hall, a Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia, a BA from the University of Toronto and is a graduate of the Ivey School of Business Executive Program. Louise is former President & CEO of the Ontario Public Services Health and Safety Association, past National Director of the XXII World Congress on Safety & Health at Work, and past Director General and Chief Review Officer at WorkSafeBC. Louise’s community involvement includes serving as an Advisory Committee Member/Working Group for Rowan’s Law Advisory Committee and as a jury member for the International Media Festival for Prevention.


Julian DiBattista has a wide range of professional and community involvement. In addition to working for CIBC as a Senior Consultant, he helps trains tomorrow's future leaders as a Professor of Finance at George Brown College. Julian is active in the community, sitting on the board of the Ontario Science Centre, his condominium corporation and as a volunteer member of the Program Advisory Committee for the Department of Accounting and Finance at George Brown College. Julian obtained an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Master of Finance degree from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. He has been recognized with the Chartered Financial Analyst designation by the CFA Institute and the Chartered Insurance Professional designation by the Insurance Institute of Canada.


Geoff Pollock is a husband, father & lawyer, currently serving as an Elected Bencher with the Law Society of Ontario. He is thrice an Alumnus of Western University: Hons. BA, JD & MBA. During his time at Western, he also served as an Officer in the Canadian Army Reserves. He currently serves on the Board of Governors of Western. Twelve years ago, Geoff founded his law firm, Geoff Pollock & Associates. Geoff sits as an Adjudicator on the Law Society Tribunal. In his free time, Geoff volunteers as Duty Counsel for Pro Bono Law Ontario. He is also a Director of the Ontario Judicial Education Network. He has previously served as a Director of the Churchill Society. Geoff has been married to Evgeniya for 12 years. They have three small & very energetic children, Daniel (11), Elizabeth (10) and Alexandra (5). The family is passionate about hockey. All three children play, while Geoff both plays and coaches. When not on the ice, the family can be found enjoying Geoff's creations on his beloved Big Green Egg BBQ.


Chris Climo has 37 years of experience in financial services specializing in compliance, ethics, governance, and regulatory issues. He has served on a number of industry committees advising on the development and application of regulations governing industry practices and standards. Mr. Climo is also a Licensed Public Accountant who has operated as a part time sole practitioner serving not for profit organizations for 30 years. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Queen's University, a CA, CPA designation and has completed numerous financial industry qualification courses in Canada and the US. He has resided in beautiful Port Credit in the City of Mississauga for over 20 years.


Jan Dymond is a senior leader with extensive board and professional experience. Currently, Ms. Dymond chairs the boards of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and PACE Independent Living and is a director of The Counselling Foundation of Canada. She sits on the Professional Advisory Committee for Seneca College's Government Relations Program, is a former trustee of the McMichael Canadian Collection and National Gallery of Canada, and past advisory committee member for Humber College's Visual and Digital Arts program and Mt. St. Vincent's Women's Studies program. Ms. Dymond retired as VP Public Affairs of The Investment Funds Institute of Canada in 2018. Prior to joining IFIC, she was president of Janus Strategy Group Inc. and co-founder of ZED Communications Inc. - firms that provided public affairs counsel to the business, government, and not-for-profit sectors.


Rebecca Hines has 14 years of experience working in administrative law in the public sector. Ms. Hines began her career as the Registrar of the Animal Care Review Board and has worked as a Paralegal and Investigator with the Ontario Human Rights Commission. Most, recently, Ms. Hines has served as a Mediator with the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Trent University and a Legal Administration diploma from Durham College.


Craig Mazerolle is a full-time member with the License Appeal Tribunal. Previously, he was a Judicial Law Clerk with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court Branch. He also served with the Ministry of Community and Social Services in the Family Responsibility Office. Most recently, Mr. Mazerolle was a Manager with the Office of the Ombudsman of Ontario. He received his Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, and he holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from St. Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick.


Jessica Cavdar is a lawyer and graduate of Queen’s University Faculty of Law. She holds a Master of Science degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, and an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree from Brandeis University. Ms. Cavdar is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada


Samia Makhamra is a part-time member with the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board and the Health Services Appeal and Review Board. Ms. Makhamra was a Teaching and Research Assistant with University of Toronto, the University of California at Davis and the University Health Network. Ms. Makhamra has a Bachelor of Science degree from the Universidade Federal de Pelotas, Brazil; a Master's degree in Community Health from the University of Toronto and is a PhD candidate in Physiology and Neuroscience at the University of Toronto. She is a supporter and volunteer for the Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club.


Bonnie Oakes Charron is a governance specialist with experience in parliamentary, corporate, and regulatory governance . She has lived and worked in the Ottawa area for over 25 years and has been a tribunal member, board director, and committee chair. Her volunteer service to school, community, and the arts in the City of Ottawa has been recognized with two civic awards. Bonnie holds an honours bachelor of arts in the humanities, a master of library & information science degree, and a paralegal diploma.


Brian Norris is a mediator and arbitrator with a focus on insurance and employment law. He was also a Mediator in the Automobile Insurance Division of the Dispute Resolution Services Branch with the Ministry of Finance and previously a Mediator and Settlement Officer with the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. His community involvement includes having served as a member of the Student Input Panel for Langara College Student Support Services Advisory Board Committee. Mr. Norris is trained in dispute resolution with York University and the ADR Institute of Ontario and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Law) degree from Carleton University.


Laura Goulet joined Tribunals Ontario as a part-time member of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board in 2019, and subsequently on a full time basis with the Licence Appeal Tribunal in 2021. Prior to this, Ms. Goulet practiced criminal law for over 20 years as defence counsel, as well as a municipal prosecutor, assistant Crown Attorney and for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada. She holds degrees in Law & Justice (Laurentian University) as well as Criminology and Law (University of Windsor). Her community involvement includes serving as past board member and Secretary for the Sudbury Women’s Centre.


Harry Adamidis is an experienced tribunal member. At the Immigration and Refugee Board he presided over hearings at both the Immigration Division and the Refugee Protection Division. Most recently he managed a team of tribunal members in the IRB's highly successful Taskforce for Less Complex Claims.


Christopher Evans is a full-time member of the Licence Appeal Tribunal. Prior to his appointment, he practised administrative, Aboriginal, and regulatory law, and acted as counsel in proceedings before a variety of courts and administrative tribunals. Mr. Evans has an Honours Bachelor of Arts & Science and Political Science degree from McMaster University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toronto. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.


Janet Hueglin Hartwick is a public relations professional who specializes in corporate and employee communications. She serves in volunteer leadership positions at Niagara Health and the Equal Voice Foundation, and she is a former Trustee of the National Film Board of Canada. Janet holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in History from Queen’s University.


Terry Prowse served Canada for 34+ years, as a Regular Force member of the Royal Canadian Navy and Canadian Armed Forces. He participated in numerous exercises and operations with Canadian and coalition forces. In 2013/2014, he was a member of the “final 100” to serve in Afghanistan. Following his voluntary release from military service, in 2015, he was appointed to the Federal Veterans Review and Appeal Board, where he gained significant experience in Administrative Law and quasi-judicial adjudication. Terry was appointed to Tribunals Ontario, and more specifically to the Licence Appeal Tribunal, on 17 February, 2022.


Michael Beauchesne was most recently a brewing industry executive. Past career highlights include seven years of military police service in the Canadian Forces, where he graduated as the top recruit of his class and was later awarded two military commendations for community service. Michael also has almost 20 years of business experience, having attained senior leadership roles in public affairs, government affairs, and corporate affairs in both private and non-profit sectors. His adjudication experience includes three years with the Parole Board of Canada and two years with the Social Security Tribunal. Michael earned a Certificate in Adjudication for Administrative Agencies, Boards and Tribunals as well as an Ivey MBA. He also obtained a Law and Security Administration diploma with Honours standing. Michael is currently pursuing his Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation and is a member of the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA).


Taivi Lobu has served with the Health Professions and Health Services Appeal & Review Boards and as the executive director of both the Ontario Justice Education Network and Community Legal Education Ontario. She has volunteered on the Advisory Committee of the Administrative Justice Support Network (Community Living Ontario), served as a director of the Council of Canadian Administrative Tribunals, has been a frequent speaker on professional and regulatory issues, and contributed to many programs with the Society of Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators. Her earlier law practice included appellate and tribunal hearings. Taivi also supports cultural programs in the community for children and seniors.


Ulana Pahuta is a lawyer and a full-time member with the Licence Appeal Tribunal. Prior to her appointment she specialized in legal research, with previous experience in corporate/commercial and family law. Ms. Pahuta also served with the Council of the College of Early Childhood Educators and was Vice-Chair of the Discipline Committee. She studied at the University of Toronto where she received her LL.B. and a Bachelors of Science (Psychology).


Tanjoyt Saini resides in the City of Vaughan, in the Province of Ontario. Tanjoyt was called to the Ontario Bar in 2015 and worked at prominent law firms in Brampton and Toronto. Tanjoyt has significant experience in dealing with complex and serious personal injury claims. She has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the License Appeal Tribunal. Tanjoyt obtained her LL.B. from the University of Leicester in 2012 with First Class Honors.


Ludmilla Jarda is a lawyer and a full-time member of the Licence Appeal Tribunal. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Jarda practiced personal injury, employment law, and civil litigation in private practice. She was a legal instructor in the Law Practice Program at the University of Ottawa and a part-time professor at Algonquin College. She was also actively involved with the Ontario Bar Association. She holds a Juris Doctor from the Université de Moncton and a bachelor’s in social sciences in International Development and Globalization from the University of Ottawa. She is fluent in both French and English.


Raymond Ramdayal is an Environmental Health Specialist with Toronto Public Health and holds a graduate degree in science from Ryerson University. He is a part-time professor in the School of Health & Life Sciences at Conestoga College and is the past President of the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors. Mr. Ramdayal is a seasoned adjudicator and has served as board director with the Society of Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators. He has received appointments to various tribunals including the Ontario Parole Board, Fire Safety Commission, Licence Appeal Tribunal, and Animal Care Review Board. Mr. Ramdayal also conducts disciplinary hearings for the Ontario College of Trades. He has served his community in many capacities including as a volunteer firefighter for the City of Brampton and a mentor for at-risk youth in the City of Toronto.


is a retired family doctor practicing in Collingwood. He continues work as a Coronor, and with License Appeal Tribunal on Courtesy Staff of Collingwood G and M Hospital. Dr. Savage holds a MD from Queen's University.


began her career assisting international and domestic clients in trial and appellate matters before the federal and state courts in New York. She has represented clients in agency, tribunal, and administrative proceedings. Ms. Hans is in private practice, and specializes in corporate, real estate and intellectual property matters. She is a part-time member of the License Appeal Tribunal and the Ontario Parole Board. Ms. Hans holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) degree from the University of Western Ontario, and a Juris Doctor (Cum Laude) degree from Michigan State University College of Law.


Amanda Marshall is a part-time member of the Licence Appeal Tribunal. She is a former Appeals Manager with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). Prior to the WSIB, Amanda was a Team Lead and Mediator at the Financial Services Commission. Some of her previous private sector experience includes operating a mediation practice specializing in family and workplace mediation. She also spent many years managing financial counselling and mediation services at an employee family assistance company.


Jacqueline M. Harper is a lawyer in private practice in Toronto. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree at St. Francis Xavier University and her Bachelor of Laws degree at the University of Moncton, in French. She has experience in real estate and litigation matters, including medical malpractice and personal injury, as well as legal issues involving children. She has been a part-time bilingual adjudicator since 2010. Prior to joining LAT, she was a member of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board. She is an adjudicator with the Law Society Tribunal and in 2020, Jacqueline was appointed as a Deputy Judge in Toronto. She is a member of the Ontario Bar Association and of the Board of Directors of Best Buddies of Canada.


is a general practitioner having practiced palliative care and pain management in Toronto for nearly 20 years. In recent years, she was retained as a Medical Inspector by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Currently, Dr. Weinberg is an active participant in medical continuing professional development (CPD), serving as a CPD program reviewer for the Ontario College of Family Physicians and the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Dr. Weinberg's other ongoing medical interests include the appropriate use of opioids in the management of pain.


is a general paediatrician practicing in Scarborough, Ontario for the last 29 years. His practice encompasses primary and consulting paediatrics with an interest in respiratory diseases of childhood. He has been a staff paediatrician at the Michael Garron Hospital (formerly Toronto East General Hospital) in East York since 1991 and currently serves as the Chief of Paediatrics and Co-Medical Director of the Maternal, Child, and Newborn Services for the last 11 years. Since 1991 he has also been the Director of the Paediatric Asthma Clinic at the hospital.


completed his medical degree at McGill University in 2002. Over the years, he gained extensive expertise in medical affairs and health services management and administration, as well as occupational health and safety; substantial experience in the areas of general and emergency medicine; public health including communicable disease; occupational medicine; sports medicine, musculoskeletal disorders, mental health and chronic pain management; insurance and compensation medicine; and disability claims adjudication. He is a Board Examiner with the Family Physicians of Canada, and a member of the Disciplinary and Preliminary Inquiry Committees with the College of Physicians and Surgeons.


is a Family Physician working in an Urgent Care Family Practice in Orangeville. She is a former family practice resident and former Chief Resident at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Illinois. Dr. Awad's community involvement has included volunteering with Doctors without Borders and serving as an Emergency Department Volunteer with the Trillium Hospital in Mississauga. Dr. Awad is certified as an Ontario Family Physician and she holds a Medical Doctorate in Family Practice from Saint Louis University School of Medicine, a Medical degree from Xavier University School of Medicine, and a Bachelor of Life Sciences degree from McMaster University.


Matthew Létourneau is a part-time member with the Licence Appeal Tribunal as well as the Animal Care Review Board, the Fire Safety Commission and the Ontario Parole Board. He is the French Services Lead for Tribunals Ontario. Mr. Létourneau is a lawyer and member of the Law Society of Ontario. He practices employment, labour and administrative law in Ontario and Federally, in both French and English. He holds a Bilingual Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Alberta’s Faculty St. Jean and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law’s French Common Law Program. Mr. Létourneau is active in the French Language Community of Ontario with over a decade of volunteer involvement.


Isla McPherson is an Assistant Clinical Professor at McMaster University, and Physician at St. Joseph's Health Centre. Dr. McPherson's community involvement includes being a Medical Council of Canada Examiner and a College of Family Physicians of Canada Examiner. She is a member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Dr. McPherson holds a Doctor of Medicine from McMaster University.


Laura Hodgson was Legal Counsel with the Federal Department of Justice, Criminal Law Policy Section and prior to this was Crown Counsel (criminal appeals) with the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General. Ms. Hodgson clerked at the Ontario Court of Appeal before her call to the bar. Ms. Hodgson has also taught Criminal Law and Procedure at the University of Ottawa, Common law section. Her community involvement includes Ottawa Centre Refugee Action, and Tungasuvvingat Inuit.


Edward Langley was born in Toronto Ontario and currently resides in Hamilton. He attended Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, where he obtained his BA in Psychology with a minor in History. Edward’s professional career has been primarily focused in the insurance industry, holding various leadership and managerial roles with top companies such as The Dominion of Canada and Royal and SunAlliance. In his professional development, Edward fulfilled the requirements to complete his Certified Insurance Professional (CIP) and his Other Than Life (OTL) industry leading designations. Edward believes strongly in giving back to his community. He completed a Level 2 certified instructor program with Hockey Canada, and coached minor hockey in Toronto and Mississauga for almost 20 years. Through various corporate partnerships, he has been involved in supporting such organizations as Mothers Against Drunk Driving, United Way, and the Saltfleet Stoney Creek Youth Soccer’s Active Start Program.


Raymond Selbie is a family man with two sons raised in Haliburton and both with University degrees. 42 years as sole practitioner of law covering most areas of law. 1990-2022 as full time Deputy Judge Small Claims Court. 20 + years as Municipal Solicitor, Township of Dysart et al. 1979-2019 active member of Haliburton Rotary Club, (past president 1995). 12 years Vice Chair Haliburton Hospital Foundation. 2 three-year terms as director of Haliburton Community Living. 14 years as permanent Duty Counsel Provincial Court.


Anita Sol-Edeigba is a lawyer, and a member of the Law Society of Ontario. Her practice is in the areas of Family, Criminal and Mental Health Law.


Tami Cogan is a paralegal/owner of Phoenix Paralegal & Advocacy Services, and a former Instructor of Paralegal Program at Algonquin Careers Academy. Tami’s community involvement includes serving as President on Board of Directors for Ticket Defence Program.


Yanick Charbonneau is a former Manager and Legal Advisor at University of Waterloo, and a former Lawyer and Account Manager for RSS Asia Ltd. (Hong Kong), a subsidiary of Robinson, Sheppard, Shapiro, LLP, Montreal. Yanick’s community involvement has included servings on Parent Schools Council for Conseil scolaire Viamonde.


Margaret Sims is a commercial litigator with over 25 years of experience. Her practice focus is complex commercial disputes, director and officer liability, investigations, administrative law, and bankruptcy and insolvency matters. She has an B.A. in Economics from the University of Toronto, an L.L.B. from the University of British Columbia and an M.B.A. from the Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto.


Lynne Vicars is a banker turned lawyer whose extensive experience in dispute resolution fostered a passion for bringing technology to the legal profession. With over two decades of experience as corporate counsel, first as Senior Legal Counsel, for a multinational financial institution and then as General Counsel to an American Metal Manufacturer, Lynne developed deep expertise providing practical legal advice on a wide variety of legal matters, leading teams of high performing legal professionals and fostering collaborative relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Lynne now focuses her work on passion projects including mentoring with Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council and Toronto Metropolitan University’s Law Practice Program and sitting as a Deputy Judge – Small Claims Court, in Toronto. Lynne regularly acts as an independent investigator for ADR Chamber Banking Ombuds Office, an external complaints body regulated by the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (the “FCAC”).


Tamara Jordan is a social worker and lawyer. She practiced as a lawyer for several years including in the areas of family law and civil sexual assault and harassment, and as legal counsel to a children’s aid society. Ms. Jordan also worked as an Investigator with the Office of the Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth and in various capacities with Boost Child & Youth Advocacy Centre and other non-profit organizations. Ms. Jordan is an active volunteer and has served many years as a Board member with non-profit agencies. She also works part-time as a consultant conducting human rights investigations and reviews.


Hande Bilhan is an experienced, multi-lingual public affairs professional with a proven track record in shaping public policy and regulations. In her role as a consultant, she has a solid track record in creating and executing research, insights and advocacy campaigns. Hande previously served on the executive team of one of Canada's largest financial services distribution firms, leading government, industry and public affairs initiatives. Prior to the private sector, she held progressive senior policy roles in the Ontario government. Hande holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from Bilkent University in Turkey and a Master's degree in Business Communications from the EU Business School.


Sam Moini is a former General/Operations Manager for HPM Taxi Ltd., and former President of Toronto Taxi Fleet Association. His community involvement has included serving as Martial Arts Instructor for Beaches I.T.F. Taekwon-Do.


Bernard Trottier has been a consultant and advisor for clients across multiple sectors, with a focus on business strategy and digital transformation. Recently he was a Managing Partner for Gartner Inc., a global IT research and advisory firm. He served as Member of Parliament for Etobicoke-Lakeshore, which included Parliamentary Secretary roles for Foreign Affairs and la Francophonie, as well as for Public Works and Government Services. He has been a community volunteer for Etobicoke sports leagues and served on the board of the Etobicoke Philharmonic Orchestra. He is fluent in French and English.


Mike Chopowick is a not-for-profit association executive with leadership experience in membership services, corporate communications, advocacy and governance support for several industry associations in the electricity distribution, waste management, racing and property management sectors. Mike has also served in policy and communications advisory roles in the Ontario government for the Ministries of Finance and Northern Development & Mines. Mike is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) through the Canadian Society of Association Executives and holds an undergraduate degree in Environmental & Resource Management from the University of Toronto.


Emily Morton graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto in 2002 with a J.D. (Hon). She completed her articles of clerkship for the Justices of the Court of Appeal for Ontario in 2003. Ms. Morton was employed at Simpson Thacher and Bartlett LLP in New York City and at Ruby & Edwardh in Toronto as an associate lawyer for the first three years of her practice. Since 2006, she has run a solo practice focusing on criminal appeals. Ms. Morton is a member of the Pro Bono Inmate Appeal Program and has taught Evidence as adjunct faculty at Osgoode Hall Law School. She was legal editor of the Canadian Criminal Cases for several years.


Paul Dolinar is a dedicated family physician with extensive experience in providing high-quality care to diverse patient populations across Ontario, with his main practice in downtown Toronto. Driven by a passion for teaching, he has served as a clinical teacher for many institutions and evaluates future doctors from early years in medical school to their final certification exams. His educational journey includes a Doctor of Medicine from Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and a Master of Science in Biology from Laurentian University.


David To, of Richmond Hill, is a self-employed Family Physician, Emergency Physician, and a Clinical Lecturer with the University of Toronto’s Department of Family and Community Medicine. He is a former Legal Counsel with the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General. His community involvement has included serving as a Board director and elected general council member with the Professional Association of Residents of Ontario.


Lisa Holland, of Mississauga, serves as a member of the Council of the College of Optometrists of Ontario and is a Lawyer with Himelfarb Proszanski. Her community involvement includes serving as Executive Secretary with the Mississauga Potters Guild.


Angela Jonsson, of Toronto, is Chief of Staff and Vice-President of Public Affairs with Canada Health Infoway. She is a former Director of Member Engagement & Advocacy, Manager of Government Relations & Advocacy, and Senior Specialist Advocacy, with the Ontario Medical Association. Her community involvement has included serving as a Board member with the City of Toronto Board of Health.


Rameez Sewani is a lawyer who earned his law degree from the University of Toronto. He practices criminal law in Ontario at the trial and appellate levels.


Dina is the Managing Partner of Willis Business Law and has 18 years of civil litigation experience. She has appeared before various levels of court and tribunals and has successfully resolved numerous disputes for her clients. She serves as the firm’s Articling Principal and is the Chair of the firm’s Student Committee. Dina also provides private mediation services and adjudicative services to the Licence Appeal Tribunal. Dina has been a sessional instructor at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law since 2008. She is a graduate of the University of Windsor in 2004 earning an LL.B from the Faculty of Law and a B.A. in 2001 from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (Political Science with minor in Economics). She volunteers as a Governance and By-Law Committee Member with Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation, as a Team Manager with the LaSalle Stompers Soccer Club and with Lawyers Feed the Hungry.


Robert Rock lives and works in the Municipality of Scugog. He is the Municipal Councillor for the Township of Scugog, representing Ward 3, mostly comprised of Scugog Island. Robert has had several roles in the communications industry, such as a radio show host and later as a television host with Rogers TV. He spent nearly 15 years in the financial industry, working with Fidelity Investments, RBC Global Services, and CIBC Mellon. His roles in the industry include operations, mutual fund accounting, training and development, and business development. After leaving the financial industry, Robert owned and managed a small consulting company focused on sales and digital marketing. The client base ran from small businesses looking to create their first digital marketing or sales programs to running a 10 million dollar-a-month paid advertising program with the Source. In 2020, Robert began work in Alternative Dispute Resolution and started training in Mediation, Arbitration, and other aspects of ADR. He is an associate at Families First Mediation, working as a mediator and arbitrator, focusing on civil issues. Robert has always firmly believed in volunteering and giving back to my community. As such, I have been involved in many different organizations. I have been a director for the Ajax Pickering Board of Trade and Community Living Ajax Pickering Whitby and a director with the Ajax Pickering Dolphins football club. I have coached youth in boxing, baseball, hockey, and football. I also led fundraising initiatives for Big Brothers Big Sisters and Community Living. Currently, he is Chair of Kawartha Conservation and Vice Chair of Conservation Ontario, as well as several committees of Council for the Municipality.


Kathryn Grieves is a lawyer and has been a full-time adjudicator with Tribunals Ontario since 2018. Prior to her appointment she worked as a litigator in private practice and as in-house legal counsel. Ms. Grieves holds a Bachelor of Management degree from Concordia University of Edmonton, and a Juris Doctor from Queen's University. She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Canadian Bar Association.


Sofia Ahmad is a Pharmacist and Humanitarian Aid worker with over 20 years of service. She has worked in support of medical relief missions, around the world, to areas affected by severe poverty, natural disasters or war with resulting refugees. Sofia is the recipient of numerous awards for her community service, volunteer work, including a Medal presented by the (ON) Lt. Governor General at Queen's Park.


Robert Ciriello has over 15 years within the private and public sectors and currently serves as Chief Administrative Officer at Owen Transportation Company. Previously, Robert was a Director of Internal Audit at the Royal Bank of Canada and before that, Assistant Vice President at Canada Life, within Governance Operations, Risk and Controls. Robert holds a HBA and MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, a JD from the University of Detroit Mercy and LLM from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.


Nick Iannazzo is a lawyer with experience in the real estate, corporate and commercial law areas. He was called to the Ontario Bar in 1985. He is an adjunct professor in the Law and Business Department at Ryerson University. He has adjudication experience as a member of the Real Estate Council of Ontario Discipline and Appeals Committee. He holds a Master of Laws and Bachelor of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Bachelor of Commerce (With Distinction) from York University.


Matthew Frontini is a Manager Legal Review of Office of Research Services for the University of Guelph, and a former Associate for Deeth Williams Wall LLP. Matthew’s community involvement includes formerly serving as member of Health Sciences Research Ethics Board for the University of Toronto.

Nishant Nayak serves as a member (part-time) for the Grant Review Team—Toronto—Ontario Trillium Foundation. Nishant is a Tax Auditor (Field) for Canada Review Agency, and a former Tax Auditor (Field) for the Ontario Ministry of Finance.


Andrea Reid is an Entrepreneur and Team Leader for Rodan & Fields, and a former Senior Clinical Specialist for Genetrech. Andrea’s community involvement includes serving as Membership Experience Advisor for Alpha Mu Chapter – Sigma Kappa Sorority


Teresa Walsh’s professional career spans nearly four decades. From 2013 to 2021, she was a lawyer with TD Bank Group’s Legal Disputes and Investigations team. From 1996 to 2013, Ms. Walsh practised civil litigation at two pre-eminent Toronto firms, where she represented clients in a broad range of commercial, professional negligence, personal injury and product liability disputes. Prior to embarking on her legal career, Ms. Walsh worked in television production at CBC News and later, at MuchMusic. Ms. Walsh has volunteered as a facilitator with an English as a Second Language program and supports various Toronto community food programs.


Mr. Stanton was first elected to the House of Commons in January 2006 and served five terms through to September 2021. He served as a presiding officer in the House of Commons from 2011 to 2021 and finished his service in the speakership as Deputy Speaker (2015 to 2021). Prior to becoming an MP, he worked in and led his family’s tourism business, Bayview-Wildwood Resort, (1978 - 2005); served four years as a councillor in the Township of Severn, and four years on the board (management) of the then, Ontario Workplace Health and Safety Agency (1990-93; 1994-95). Bruce and Heather Stanton live near Coldwater, Ontario.


Dominique Setton, of Toronto, is a former Member of the Task Force on Strategic Initiatives at the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, a former Member of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, and a former Investigator, Compliance and Discipline at Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (now Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council). Dominique’s community involvement includes serving as a Director for Hope Place Centres in Milton.


Mary Henein Thorn, of Kitchener, serves as a Vice-Chair (part-time) for the Ontario Trillium Foundation and Business Development for Jim Ruta Advisorcraft - Keynote Speaker, and is a former Event Manager/Public Relations for OnPoint Event Management and former Chief Executive Officer, AdSpace Plus. Mary’s community involvement includes serving as a Board member for the Kitchener Housing Board.


Pierre R. Lavigne is a member of the Bar of Ontario and the Bar of Quebec, with a practice in administrative law, litigation, and class actions. His Ottawa based practice has experience in the areas of medical and governmental malpractice, design of compensation systems, alternative dispute resolution, actuarial issues, consent and capacity issues, insurance, and municipal law. He has appeared at all levels of provincial and federal courts up to the Supreme Court of Canada. He has been a sessional lecturer in Insurance and Municipal Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ottawa.


Ms. Carmichael Greb is a former Toronto City Councilor, serving the residents of Eglinton-Lawrence from 2014-2018. As Councilor she was able to effect change in several areas of the City - rescinding the ban on road hockey, looking at a city-wide restriction on plastic straws and correcting road design to make streets safer are some of her accomplishments on Council. Ms. Carmichael Greb has served on several Boards and Committees, including Exhibition Place, Canadian National Exhibition, Invest Toronto and the TSSA. Ms. Carmichael Greb has been active in her community for many years. She currently acts as Chair of the Parent Council at Blessed Sacrament Catholic School and member of the Parent Association at St. Michael's College School. Ms. Carmichael Greb and has served on the Board of Governors, Board of Trustees and acted as Co-Chair of the Alumni Association at the Bishop Strachan School and as a Committee Member of the St. Mike’s Young Leaders at St. Michael’s Hospital.


Robert W. Harris was born and grew up in Toronto. He attended Royal York Collegiate and Glendon College, York University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics. He has three sons, Bradley, Andrew and Patrick. All work and live the Toronto area. He has been a public relations consultant, a writer, a senior manager, and a conference organizer. Some highlights include project director for the Parliamentary Task Force on Child Care, a writer for the Department of Finance preparing briefing materials on the Goods and Services tax at the time it was introduced. He organized several conferences for business groups on the impact of new legislation introduced by the Ontario and National governments. Most recently he was Director of Customer Service for a family business, Perkins Services. It is a company specializing in data, management, print and mail services. The company grew 10-fold over a 15-year period.


Sean Weir was CEO of Canada’s largest national law firm from 2000 to July 1, 2018. In his legal practice, Mr. Weir advised financial institutions, corporations and major pension funds. Active in his community, Mr. Weir served as an elected Councillor of the Town of Oakville, a director of the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and a Director and Chair of Oakville Hydro. Mr. Weir was named a “Diversity Champion” by Women of Influence Magazine, received the Lexpert Zenith Managing Partner Award for Corporate Social Responsibility and was listed in the Lexpert/American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada.
