Niagara Parks Commission


April Jeffs has been serving on the Niagara Parks Commission as Vice-Chair since 2019. April is a Photographer/Owner/Operator for April Jeffs Lakeside Studio, and an Office Manager for Member of Parliament Tony Baldinelli. April’s community involvement includes formerly serving as Coach for Wainfleet Minor Softball Association.


is a former Director for Information Services and Clerk at City of Guelph. His community involvement includes formerly serving as Member for Municipal Elections Act Project Team at AMCTO, and as Committee Member for Association of Municipalities of Ontario.


Jessica Gale Friesen was born in St. Davids, Ontario, the oldest of three children. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Western Ontario she practiced as a Registered Nurse in both acute and long-term care. After the birth of her second child, Jessica left health care and entered her family business in the petroleum industry – including petroleum delivery and a chain of gas stations and convenience stores. Since joining the family business, Jessica has worked tirelessly, becoming the third-generation owner and Chief Executive Officer in 2014 of Gales Gas Bars. She has helped shape and advance the company’s corporate and community presence and continues to explore ways to give back to the community. She is proud to be a Living Wage Champion, and employer of choice. A published author and gifted speaker, Jessica is a mental health advocate, devoting a significant amount of time to assist in breaking the stigma around mental health. Jessica devotes much of her time serving on several boards and has achieved her Chartered Director designation. Jessica is a proud Paul Harris Fellow, Quantum Shift Alumni, and the recipient of various recognitions including the 40 Under Forty Award, Star Woman in Convenience, Fuelling Change Award – Canadian Renewable Fuels Association, etc. Always looking for a new project or challenge, Jessica continues to write, run her company, sit on multiple boards, and play nurse to her two teens and husband.


Raymond (Ted) Salci is a former Citizenship Judge for Citizenship & Immigration Canada, and a former Mayor for the City of Niagara Falls. His community involvement includes formerly serving as President for Niagara Falls Rotary Club.


Barton Maves serves as member (part-time) for the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission, and an owner and Chief Operating Officer for the Sterlingbridge Marketing and Communications. He is a former Member of Parliament for Niagara Falls and Niagara on the Lake from 1995-2003. His community involvement includes serving as a baseball coach and as a Vice-Chair of the Outdoor Courts Committee for A.N. Myer Secondary School.


Mayor Jim Diodati is serving his 3rd consecutive term as Mayor of Niagara Falls and brings his experience, entrepreneurial outlook and the best interest of the residents of Niagara Falls to the table in his role as Niagara Parks Commissioner. He knows the value of the falls and Niagara Parks to the City of Niagara Falls and Region of Niagara and often refers to Niagara Falls as the “coca-cola” of municipalities. Jim has been known to carve a path where there wasn't one before. He believed so strongly in things like GO Train coming to Niagara Falls, building a new South Niagara Hospital and putting a University Hub in downtown Niagara Falls, that he just kept leading the way, bringing people together and committing to making things happen until they became a reality. Mayor Jim brings an entrepreneurial approach to public service with his innovative style. He has been called unorthodox and is reinventing what it is to be a mayor. His unparalleled zest for life is no more evident than when in the company of his family. He has 3 children - Olivia, Mya and Jimmy.


Lord Mayor Betty Disero is serving her first term as Lord Mayor of the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake and is a member of Regional Council. She was a Toronto School Board trustee from 1982 to 1985, a Councillor for the City of Toronto from 1985 to 2003 and a Councillor for the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake from 2014 to 2018. She was President of Boomer Consulting Corporation from 2003 to 2017 and also worked at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation from 1979 to 1982. Lord Mayor Disero’s community involvement includes being a member of the Rotary Club of Niagara-on-the-Lake, the Niagara-on-the-Lake Historical Society and Friends of Fort George.


Spencer DeWolfe, of St. Catharines, is a Real Estate Agent with Masterson Realty Ltd. and a former teacher with the District School Board of Niagara. His community involvement has included serving as member of the Board of Directors of St. Catharines Jr B Falcons.


Natasha DiCienzo is a Wealth Advisor with Scotia Wealth Management. She has pervious work experience with MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas and with Falls Avenue Resort in Niagara Falls. Natasha's community involvement includes serving as a member of the Investment Committee of the Niagara Community Foundation. Natasha has a Honours Business Administration, with distinction, from Ivey Business School of Western University.
