Fish and Wildlife Heritage Commission
YVONNE BROWN
Yvonne Brown works at St. Lawrence College in Kingston as an Logistics Co-ordinator. In 2012, she founded Ontario Women Anglers and is a strong advocate for getting women and children outdoors and on the water. As an ambassador for the Keep Canada Fishing initiative, she promotes National Fishing Week and licence-free fishing days at every opportunity. Yvonne has also been an instructor at the OFAH Women’s Outdoor Weekend for the past 10 years, writes for a number of outdoor publications and is an avid turkey hunter. In 2016, Yvonne became the first female to receive the Rick Amsbury Award of Excellence, presented by the Canadian Angler Hall of Fame, for her contributions to the sport. She was also the first female recipient of the President's Award given out by the Canadian Sportfishing Industry Association in 2019.
BRENT MCNAMEE
Brent McNamee was previously CEO of Fresh Air Educators in Ottawa, ON with well known flagship brands BOATERexam.com and HUNTERcourse.com Brent worked closely with Fish and Wildlife agency clients across Canada, USA and Oceania providing progressive hunter education solutions. Brent grew the company internationally over two decades with 50+ employees and sold to a private equity firm in 2017. Brent is an Ontario Hunter Safety Instructor, Canadian Firearms Instructor, licensed Trapper and accomplished big game hunter including completing his Grand Slam of the North American Wild Sheep in 2018. His community involvement includes serving as a volunteer for Ducks Unlimited Canada, Scouts Canada and Hockey Canada.
GREG FARRANT
Greg Farrant is a former special assistant to Whip, Solicitor General (1985-1990) and Minister of Education, Chief of Staff to the Mayor City of Scarborough (1991-1998), Administration Committee City of Toronto (1998-2001), Manager of Government Affairs Communications and Policy OFAH (2001-2017). He also served as a member and Chair of the National Firearms Committee and Co-Chair of the federal Hunting and Angling Panel (HAAP) and as a member of the Minister’s Task Force on Lyme Disease. At the community level he served as Chair of the Trent Hills Police Services Board.
JIM GREENWOOD
Jim Greenwood is a former Conservation Officer of Resource Technician and Deputy Conservation Officer for the Ministry of Natural Resources. His community involvement includes serving as President for the Long Point Area Fish and Game Club.
ROBIN HORWATH
Robin Horwath lives and resides in Blind River Ontario and has been living there since 1972. He is a licensed trapper, hunter, and fisherman. He has been on the RMAC committee which is the local citizens committee for Forest Issues with MNRF. He has served as the chair for the Elk restoration committee on the North Shore, was vice president of the Northshore Fisheries Management Association which he helped stock and survey lakes for the Sault Ste Marie District MNRF. He was also on the Mississauga Water Management committee for water management of the Mississauga River power generation for water levels and draw downs. He was employed for 11 years as the General Manager of the Ontario Fur Managers Federation. He has always tried to serve on natural resource committees to help enhance fish and wildlife opportunities and sustainable, healthy populations for Ontarians and the general public.
