- Function
The Advisory Group will serve primarily as a forum for the Attorney General to collaborate with and receive input from Indigenous leaders on matters affecting Indigenous Peoples and the justice system. The objective of the Advisory Group is to consider innovative ways to improve the manner in which the Ontario justice system impacts Indigenous Peoples, and to provide culturally appropriate advice to the Attorney General with a view towards promoting reconciliation, and implementing lasting and positive systemic change.
- Membership
The Advisory Group shall consist of up to 13 members appointed by the Attorney General. The Attorney General may designate one or more members to serve as Chair or Co-Chairs of the Advisory Group.
- Term
Up to 3 years
- Remuneration
- A chair or co-chair who is not employed by the Government of Ontario shall be compensated at the rate of $350 per diem up for a maximum of 22 days;
- Members, other than a chair or co-chair, who are not employed by the Government of Ontario shall be compensated at the rate of $200 per diem for a maximum of 22 days.
