Background

Police Services Act (opens a new window)

Function

The Independent Police Review Director manages complaints made by members of the public about the policies of or services provided by a police force or about the conduct of a police officer in accordance with Part V and the regulations of the Act, and exercises such powers and performs such duties as may be prescribed by regulation under the Act.

Membership

The Lieutenant Governor in Council, on the recommendation of the Attorney General, appoints the Independent Police Review Director.

Term

There is no limitation in legislation.
