Function

The council is the board and governing body of the Ontario Association of Architects whose affairs it manages and administers.

Membership

Not less than twelve and not more than twenty members who are members of the association and are elected by the association members. The Lieutenant Governor in Council appoints not less than three and not more than five members who are neither members of the governing body of a self-regulating licensing body under any other act nor licensed under this act. The immediate past president of the council, if not already elected, sits as a member of the council. The council elects a president, a treasurer and one or more vice-presidents from among its elected members.

Term

The persons to be appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council shall be appointed for one year, two year or three year terms in order that one-third shall be appointed in each year.

Meetings

The council meets at least four times a year. Minimal preparation and no travel is required for meetings.

Appointees are remunerated according to Schedule A, Level 1 of the Agencies and Appointments Directive
