Background

Function

The Centre operates, maintains, and manages an international class convention centre facility in the City of Ottawa that promotes and develops tourism and industry in Ontario.

Membership

The members of the Centre form and are its board of directors. The board is composed of not less than seven and not more than twelve members of whom not more than nine are appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council and not more than three are appointed by resolution of the council of the City of Ottawa. The Lieutenant Governor in Council shall designate one of the directors as chair of the board. The Lieutenant Governor in Council may fill any vacancy among the members of the Centre.

Term

Each member holds office for a term not exceeding three years and is eligible for reappointment.

Meetings

There are at least five board meetings a year. Two to three hours of preparation is required on average per meeting.

Appointees are remunerated according to Schedule A, Level 1 of the Agencies and Appointments Directive
