Function

The board will supervise the management of the business affairs of the Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO).TICO administers designated provisions of the Travel Industry Act, 2002 and its regulation. The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) is a not-for-profit corporation that administers designated provisions of the Travel Industry Act, and its regulations with the purpose of protecting the public interest and ensuring a fair, safe and informed marketplace. The board of directors supervises the management of the business affairs of TICO.

Membership

TICO is governed by a 9 member Board of Directors. The Minister appoints 3 directors to the board. In addition, the Minister may appoint the Chair of the board from among the directors.

Term

Ministerial appointed Directors are appointed at pleasure. It is within the Minister's discretion to determine the length and number of terms of an appointed Director.

Meetings

The board meets about six times a year.

Remuneration

Appointees are paid by the Board.
