Function

Ontario Electricity Financial Corporation is the continuation of the former Ontario Hydro. It manages the former Ontario Hydro's debt and liabilities and its contracts with non-utility generators. Its objects also include providing financial assistance to other corporations that were established by the Province as part of the restructuring of Ontario Hydro in 1999 and entering into agreements relating to supply and demand management of electricity in Ontario.

Membership

The Ontario Electricity Financial Corporation's Board of Directors is composed of a chair and up to eleven other directors. The directors are appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council, who also designates the chair and may designate one or more vice-chairs from among the directors.

Term

A term of office is not more than three years and directors are eligible for reappointment for successive terms of not more than three years each.

Meetings

The Board of Directors meets at least quarterly.

Remuneration

Appointees to the OEFC who are members of the Ontario Public Service do not receive remuneration
