Function

The Greenbelt Foundation will receive and maintain a fund and apply it to other qualified organizations to advance projects to preserve, protect and restore the environmental and agricultural integrity of the Greenbelt Area as defined in the Greenbelt Act, 2005 and the regulations there under. The Foundation will oversee activities such as the promotion of agriculture and viniculture, research, public education, land stewardship and land acquisition across the Greenbelt.

Membership

Subject to the provisions of any special resolution of the foundation changing the number of Directors, the activities and affairs of the Corporation shall be managed by a Board composed of ten Directors, as follows: a) four Provincial Directors and b) six Public Directors.

Term

A Director, if otherwise qualified, is eligible for re-election for two consecutive terms of any length up to three years, and thereafter is not eligible for re-election until a period of eleven months has elapsed from the date of retirement of such Director. Appointment terms shall begin on the date of the Foundation's annual meeting.

Meetings

The annual meeting of the members shall be held each year within Ontario, at a time, place and date determined by the Board. The Board may at any time call a special general meeting.

Remuneration

Appointees are eligible to receive expenses.
