Function

The mandate of the council is to provide technical and scientific advice and make recommendations to the minister on matters related to standards for drinking-water quality and testing.

Membership

Members serve not more than three years and are eligible for reappointment.

Term

There is no limitation in legislation.

Meetings

Virtual - The entire council meets monthly. Working groups may meet on a more frequent basis to complete a specific task or assignment.

Remuneration

Appointees are remunerated according to Schedule A, Level 2 of the Agencies and Appointments Directive.
