Health Unit Board - South East

CHRIS SEELEY

Chris Seeley was involved in Municipal Politics from 1982 to 1991 as a Councilor, Deputy Reeve, and as Mayor of the Town of Napanee, serving three years terms. His community involvement has included serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Community Foundation for Lennox and Addington. He has also served as Bursary Chair for the province of Ontario on the OPP Youth Foundation Board of Directors.

BARBARA PROCTOR

Barbara Proctor is a retired Registered Nurse with a 40-year career in Acute Care Nursing in hospitals in the GTA and 7 years of homecare nursing in Prince Edward County. She has served as a Municipal Councillor for Prince Edward County, former member of Hastings Prince Edward Emergency Services Board, has served as Chair of PEC Municipal Healthcare Advisory Committee, volunteered on local boards and organizations. Barbara is Past President of the Rotary Club of Picton, a Paul Harris Fellow and current President and Chair of the Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association.

DAVID PATTENDEN

David Pattenden is a former CEO of the Ontario Medical Association. He is also a member of the Queen's University Board of Trustees and Chair of the Health committee, member of the boards of directors for Kingston General Hospital, Hotel Dieu Hospital, and the new joint hospital Kingston Health Sciences Centre. His community involvement includes serving as the lead Trustee of the Henderson Foundation. Mr. Pattenden holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Law, Master of Education, Master of Arts and a Doctor of Law from Queen's University.

MELANIE PARADIS

Melanie Paradis is the President of Texture Communications. She is an expert ghost-writer of speeches and op-eds for leading industry executives and Indigenous leaders. Her work has been published in Canada’s most read newspapers and heard on airwaves and streaming services across the nation for more than 15 years. Melanie has worked with executives on Bay Street and politicians on Parliament Hill during high stakes crises and moments of transformation. Prior to founding Texture Communications, Melanie served in senior communications roles at leading national public affairs and government relations firms, and in-house for an international mining company and Indigenous government. Melanie is on the Board of Governors for Loyalist College and lives in Belleville, Ontario

JEFFREY ALLIN

Jeffrey Allin is a member of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. He is a self-employed Physician. His community involvement includes serving as a doctor member of the Mully Children’s Charity.

STEPHEN BIRD

Stephen Bird is a retired lawyer. He graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School of York University and holds an M.A. from the University of Waterloo. For most of his career, Mr. Bird worked as a lawyer for a community legal clinic in eastern Ontario. He has served on the Board of Directors and the Governance Committee for the Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital as well as for many years on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Lanark Renfrew Health and Community Services (now ConnectWell Community Health). He has been a reviewer for the Canadian Centre for Accreditation and Imagine Canada. He is currently on the Board of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
