ROBERT POIRIER

Robert Poirier is a recipient of the Order of Ontario, has his ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors, and has more than 25 years of experience in banking, investments, and technology. From 1992 until 1999, Robert served in Ottawa as a senior policy advisor to members of the Senate Banking Committee, where he was involved in the governance practices of institutional investors and the establishment of some of Canada’s largest public sector plans, including the CPP Investment Board and the PSP Investment Board. Today, Robert serves on several boards, including as the chair of The Northern Trust Company, Canada, the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority, chair of the capital committee of Metrolinx, and chair of OLG’s governance and corporate social responsibility committee and previously the chair of the federal agency, PortsToronto and Billy Bishop Airport, and almost a decade as Managing Director at State Street Trust Company Canada.
