Appointee Biographies

DAVID ANDERSON

David Anderson, of Gananoque, is a Major (Reserve) with the Canadian Armed Forces, and a former Councillor with the Town of Gananoque. His community involvement includes serving as Chair of the Gananoque Police Services Board, Chair of the Gananoque Heritage Advisory Panel and Member of the Canadian Military Intelligence Association.

RICHARD NEIL MCCARNEY

Richard Neil McCarney has lived in Gananoque his entire life. During his adult years, he worked as a Captain for the Gananoque Boat Line. In 1981, he joined LCBO, where he built a successful career serving in various management roles in Kingston, Gananoque, and Lansdowne. Following his retirement from the LCBO in 2012, Richard was hired as the Chief Operating Officer of the Gananoque Boat Line. He remained in that position until the company was sold in 2019 and continued to provide his expertise as a consultant until 2020. Throughout his career and retirement, Richard has been actively involved in his community. He has served on the Police Services Board and the Gananoque Planning and Adjustment Committee and has been a Director of the Thousand Islands Playhouse. He also served as Chair of the Clock Tower Restoration Fund and the Town Gates Restoration Project. Richard is now retired and continues to reside in Gananoque with his wife, Gillian. Together, they enjoy spending time with their two sons and two grandchildren.
