PENNY LUCAS

Penny Lucas retired the first time in 2011. She fell in love with Ignace, the people and the ambiance. She adopted it as her hometown. In 2014 she started working for the Township as the ICNLC Project Co-ordinator. She retired in 2018 to run successfully for Council. In 2020 she was appointed Mayor when the incumbent resigned. Penny is currently working in Pickle Lake and tries to get home to Ignace every couple of weeks. Penny has always involved herself in her community. She is currently Treasurer for the Ignace Silver Tops Seniors and a member of the Ignace Lions and Legion. Penny is past President of the Mary Berglund Community Health Centre Hub and past member of the Ignace Mixed Bowling League. Penny is a past Vice-Chair of the Kenora District Social Services Board and a past member of the Ignace Police Services Board.
