AMIE HUISMAN

Amie Huisman, of St. Catharines, is a Field Placement Officer, Educational Assistant and Post Graduate Autism and Behavioural Sciences at Niagara College. Amie’s community involvement includes serving as a foster mom for rescue dogs at Brono's Project.

CAROL BALDINELLI

Carol is a long-time resident of Niagara Falls with 27 years of experience at Niagara Region Public Health in the Family Health Division. Her work has focused on supporting children and families through early childhood and family health programs, giving her a strong understanding of publicly funded services and systems. Carol’s connection to Niagara Children’s Centre is both professional and personal. Her son was born severely premature. Over the following years, her family accessed Niagara Children’s Centre services including speech therapy, occupational and physical therapy, and social work. Through professional and lived experience as a parent of a child who is hard of hearing, Carol has a strong understanding of Individual Education Plans, accommodations, accessibility requirements, and coordinated supports across health and education systems. She also brings governance and advisory experience through service with education and municipal accessibility committees.
