Ontario Internal Audit Committee

MICHAEL STRAMAGLIA

Mike Stramaglia is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst. He holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics Degree (Actuarial Science and Statistics) from the University of Waterloo. Mike is the President and Founder of Matrisc Advisory Group Inc., a consulting firm that specializes in the provision of enterprise risk management advisory services to the financial services sector. He was appointed as the Global Risk Institute’s first Executive in Residence in January 2014, where he assists GRI management in the development of leading edge ERM research and education programs. He currently serves as an independent corporate director for the Equitable Bank Group (TSE:EQB), Definity Financial (TSE: DFY), Foresters Financial/IoF and Munich Re Group’s Canadian P&C insurance subsidiaries (Munich Re Canada & Temple Insurance). Prior to his service on boards, Mike held senior leadership positions with Sun Life Financial, including the position of Executive Vice-President and Chief Risk Officer. He joined Sun Life Financial in 2002 following its acquisition of Clarica, where he held the position of Executive Vice-President and Chief Investment Officer and was also head of the International Reinsurance Business. Previously, Mike held senior executive positions with the Canadian operations of the worldwide Zurich Financial Services Group, including Chief Actuary, CFO, Chief Operating Officer and President & CEO of the Zurich Life Insurance Company of Canada.

RANI DHALIWAL

Rani K. Dhaliwal is the Senior Vice-President, Transformation and Strategic Partnerships at Humber College, supporting the advancement of the college’s strategic priorities. Rani oversees Humber College’s unique strategic partnerships with industry and community and the University of Guelph; she is also deeply involved in the Humber-Seneca Polytechnic Partnership. In her former role as the college’s SVP Planning and Corporate Services & CFO, Rani provided leadership in the areas of financial services, risk management, IT and strategic planning. She also has extensive private sector experience. Rani has a passion for volunteering and working on issues related to health and education. She currently serves on the Ontario Internal Audit Committee and as a director of the Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace. Rani has previously been involved with the William Osler Health System, World University Service of Canada, UNICEF Canada and the Federation of Canadian-Brazilian Businesses. Rani has her FCPA FCMA. She has a BA in Economics and in Business Administration from York University, and Chartered Director designation from McMaster University.

BOB PLAMONDON

Robert Plamondon (FCPA FCA, IAS.A) est administrateur indépendant, consultant, historien, économiste et auteur. Il possède une expertise dans les domaines des politiques publiques, de la gouvernance, de la transformation organisationnelle, des finances et de la gestion du risque et du rendement. Il siège au conseil d’administration de la Fiducie du régime de retraite du Syndicat des employés de la fonction publique de l’Ontario et est le directeur de l’Institut de développement professionnel pour les DIP et du Programme de perfectionnement en leadership de la fonction de contrôleur de l’Université d’Ottawa. M. Plamondon a présidé le Comité de vérification du secteur des services communautaires (Secrétariat du Conseil du Trésor de l’Ontario) et a siégé au conseil d’administration de la Commission de la capitale nationale, dont il a été président par intérim et où il a présidé le Comité d’audit. Auteur de cinq livres à succès, il a mérité la désignation de FCPA en 2006 et reçu la Médaille du jubilé de diamant de la Reine Elizabeth II en 2012. M. Plamondon a enseigné à trois universités et est titulaire d’un baccalauréat en commerce et d’une maîtrise en études de gestion de l’Université Carleton. En 2018, il a terminé le Programme de formation des administrateurs de Rotman-ICD.
