SALLY HOYLES
Sally Hoyles resides in Ottawa, Ontario. Throughout a teaching career that spanned thirty years, she was guided by the inspirational words given to her by Sister Jeannine Armstrong, her principal at the school where she taught in northern Ontario. Prior to moving to Ottawa, Sister Jeannine told her to “Always hold high the torch of the Francophonie”. Sally’s belief in the importance of community has led her to being a volunteer canvasser for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and to providing backstage and front-of-house support for each of her school’s annual theatrical productions. In addition, over a period of nine consecutive years, she happily assumed the responsibilities of principal organizer of an annual school trip to the Stratford Festival, where an average of fifty Francophone students each year had an opportunity to experience live theatre, some for the very first time.
