MARIETTE CARRIER-FRASER

Manette Carrier-Fraser has worked for over 36 years in the provincial education system. She served for 14 years as Assistant Deputy Minister for Language Education French at the Ministry of Education. Still active in the Francophone community, she is a member of the Board of Directors of Hôpital Montfort; of the Psychosocial Center from Ottawa; was president of the Assembly of the Francophonie in Ontario (AFO). The in 2015, the Ontario government awarded him the Ontario Francophonie Award. She was also awarded the Order of Canada in June 2016.

SALLY HOYLES

Sally Hoyles resides in Ottawa, Ontario. Throughout a teaching career that spanned thirty years, she was guided by the inspirational words given to her by Sister Jeannine Armstrong, her principal at the school where she taught in northern Ontario. Prior to moving to Ottawa, Sister Jeannine told her to “Always hold high the torch of the Francophonie”. Sally’s belief in the importance of community has led her to being a volunteer canvasser for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and to providing backstage and front-of-house support for each of her school’s annual theatrical productions. In addition, over a period of nine consecutive years, she happily assumed the responsibilities of principal organizer of an annual school trip to the Stratford Festival, where an average of fifty Francophone students each year had an opportunity to experience live theatre, some for the very first time.

ALAYNE CRAWFORD

Alayne Crawford is the Head of Government Relations & Regulatory Affairs for IBM Canada, and a former Director of Corporate Affairs for Shaw Communications. Her community involvement includes serving as a President for Government Relations Institute of Canada.
