University of Waterloo Board of Governors
TERRY MUNDELL
Terry Mundell is an experienced executive and public affairs professional. Most recently, Terry led Ontario’s tourism and hospitality sectors serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of Canada’s foremost provincial Associations, the Greater Toronto Hotel Association and Ontario Restaurant, Hotel and Motel Association. His leadership was instrumental in leading Toronto and GTA urban centers through the SARs and COVID crises. Terry has extensive expertise within the municipal sector. As President of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario, serving over 800 municipalities, he led the $13B realignment of services between Ontario and the municipal sector which transformed the provincial-municipal relationship. Active in public affairs, Terry has served on a number of Boards, including the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation, the Vintners Quality Alliance Ontario, the Business Tax Review Panel, Destination Toronto and as Chair of the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario.
SAHEZAD PARDHAN
Sahezad Pardhan is responsible for the leadership of Cadillac Fairview’s Finance Function. As a key strategic business partner, he directs the company’s overall financial management and oversees strategic planning, enterprise risk, financial reporting, financing, treasury, taxation, valuation, and portfolio management for the organization. He brings a range of global experience across finance, strategy, and risk, including specialization in real estate, private assets and investment management. Prior to joining Cadillac Fairview, he was the Chief Financial Officer of the investment management business of a leading international financial services organization. Sahezad is a graduate of the University of Waterloo where he obtained both his Bachelors and Masters degrees and holds FCPA, FCA and CF professional designations. As an active community leader and a strong champion of diversity and inclusion, Sahezad currently serves as a Board member for Ascend Canada.
DAN WEBER
Dan Weber is the Senior Director of Innovation and Strategy for ApplyBoard, an EdTech firm based in Kitchener. He is a former Director of Operations in the Office of the Minister of Education for the Government of Ontario from 2018-2019, and has held roles in the PSE, Insurance and Technology sectors over the course of his career. His community involvement has included serving on the Dean’s Advisory Board for the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen’s University, the Board of Governors for St. Jerome’s University (federated with the University of Waterloo) and has contributed to a number of local and national nonprofit agencies.
DAVID BORCSOK
David Borcsok leads the Toronto office of Mucker Capital, a Los Angeles-based venture capital firm focused on seed-stage technology companies. He joined the firm’s investment team after serving as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence. David is also the Founder of Ordinary, a mission-driven investment holding company. Previously, he was with the Royal Bank of Canada, where he launched and managed two early-stage venture strategies backed by the bank. Over his 14-year career in venture capital, David has led investments in more than 60 companies that have collectively raised billions in follow-on funding. He is a David Rockefeller Fellow with the Trilateral Commission, a New Leader at the Carnegie Council, Founder of the Ordinary Foundation, and a member of the Milken Institute’s Young Leaders Circle. David holds degrees from Wilfrid Laurier University and Brown University and is a Kauffman Fellow.
