University Of Waterloo Board Of Governors

TONY GIOVINAZZO

is Chief Executive Officer at Activa Holdings Inc., and a former Assistant Vice President for Mortgage Portfolios at Sun Life Assurance Co. of Canada. His community involvement includes serving as Chair and Member for Economic Development Advisory Committee at City of Waterloo, and as Member for Uptown Vision Committee.

LISA MAK

Lisa Mak has been a pediatric nurse for over twenty-five years at the Hospital for Sick Children. Her clinical background and experience include Pediatric and Cardiac Intensive Care, Interventional Radiology, Neurosurgery/Trauma, and Pediatric Chronic Care/Rehabilitation. She is currently working as a charge nurse/staff nurse in the Cardiac Critical Care Unit at Sick Kids. Lisa also works as a Lecturer and Clinical Instructor for 1st and 2nd year nursing student at Ryerson University in Toronto.

CAROL CRESSMAN

Carol Cressman is a self-employed Optometrist, and a former Lecturer for the University of Benin. Her community involvement includes serving as volunteer for Parenting Through Grief.

NYLA AHMAD

Nyla Ahmad is President of Today’s Shopping Choice. Nyla has fueled a new vision and operating model focused on measurable results, rapid adoption of technology solutions, and a roadmap for a future-forward marketing approach-which includes content marketing, digital and social amplification, customer interaction and lifecycle management, and sales enablement, to new a few. Best known for her authentic and inspirational leadership style. Nyla gives her time generously to sponsor and mentor rising talent both inside and outside the organization. She is frequently asked to share her experience on technology, innovation, culture, diversity- and the intersections that are key to high-performance teams. Previous roles at Rogers Communications include SVP, Marketing at Rogers for Business, VP Incubation leading the company’s scale-up Incubator, and VP Partner Strategy. Nyla first joined Rogers during the 1990s helping to launching the Internet Division of Rogers Media and pioneering online video innovation and rich-media advertising on Rogers@Home, Canada’s first broadband portal. Nyla is the Chair of the Inclusion and & Diversity Council at Rogers and is a keen supporter of efforts to make everyone feel like they truly belong.
