Appointee Biographies



Kathyrn Rippey is a former Senior Investigator with the Ontario Civilian Commission on Police Services. She started her career with the OPP in 1980 as a constable for the Essex and Strathroy Detachments and retired in 2010 holding the rank of Inspector. Ms. Rippey is currently a member of the Orillia Town and Gown Committee, a member and past President of the Canadian Federation of University Women and a member of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police. She is the recipient of the Queen's Jubilee Medal for Community Services and the Police Exemplary Service Medal. Ms. Rippey holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Queen's University and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies degree from the University of Waterloo.


Angela Maltese is a Partner and Chartered Accountant with Grant Thorton LLP, one of Canada's leading professional service firms providing accounting and business advisory services. Ms. Maltese has held numerous community and leadership volunteer roles. She has been a member of the Lakehead University's Board of Governors and a Director on Lakehead University's Professional Pension Plan Board since 2014. She is a passionate advocate for the arts and has volunteered for more than 20 years with various arts organizations. She served on the Ontario Arts Council's Board of Directors from 2009 to 2015. She holds professional membership with the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario and the Financial Planners Standard Council of Canada.
