Appointee Biographies

ARIF KHAN

Arif Khan is a serial entrepreneur and a community advocate. He invests in the people behind companies and ideas that catalyze market segment innovation, next generation solutions, and initiatives that challenge the status quo. Arif is committed to increasing the resiliency of the community he lives and works in; previously serving as a city councillor for two terms, and as a founding board member of the Sandbox Centre for Shared Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He currently sits as a strategic Government Relations advocator with the Barrie Chamber of Commerce. For the past decade, Arif has sponsored and coached co-ed youth soccer, with a goal of nurturing sound mental and emotional development, in a sport that is often dominated by physical ability. Arif is currently Principal Broker at Solid Ground Mortgage Solutions, Director at IQInvest Mortgage Investment Corporation, and CEO of marketing and tech firms Siva Creative and Agency Row.

LYNN STRACHAN

Lynn Strachan is a Partner at SOLUTIONS Ink, and a former City Councillor for the City of Barrie. Her community involvement includes serving as Vice-Chairperson, YMCA of Simcoe Muskoka.
