Appointee Biographies

SONYA JODOIN

Sonia Jodoin serves as a member (part-time) for the Police Services Board- Brockville, an Executive Director for Victim Services of Leeds & Greenville (VSLG), and an Instructor for St. Lawrence College and Cengage Learning. Her community involvement includes formerly serving as Chair for Anti- Violence Coalition (Domestic Violence Community Coordinating Committee- DV3C).

SUSY GUADRON

Susy Guadron, of Toronto, is a Law Clerk at the University Health Network. She is also a former Law Clerk at Scotiabank. Her community involvement includes serving as a member of the Spanish Speaking Advisory Committee for the Toronto Catholic District School Board.

ERIN TRUSWELL

Dr. Erin Truswell is a dedicated systems advocate with a passion for social justice and education, particularly for vulnerable child populations. With extensive graduate work and published research in these areas, Erin has held various roles, from frontline staff to Director-level positions. Throughout her career, she has successfully led large-scale change management initiatives, emphasizing system enhancements through a continuous quality improvement lens. Erin's commitment to creating equitable social services and educational opportunities drives her work, making a meaningful impact on the lives of children and communities.

CHANTAL PRIEUR

Chantal Prieur has been the Executive Director of two non-profit organizations in the Cornwall area since 2019. The focus of these organizations is to support victims of crime, of all ages within the mandated jurisdiction. Chantal oversees one of very few fully operational Child and Youth Advocacy Centres within Ontario and is a member of the Provincial and National Network of Child and Youth Advocacy Centres. Chantal has a background in child protection and the developmental services sectors and is passionate about identifying systemic gaps and problem-solving efforts to meet identified service provision needs across service systems.

KIMBERLEY CLARK

Kimberley has worked in the field of Victim Services for 28 years including provincial leadership roles that include Chair of the Ontario Network of Victim Service Providers, member of the Domestic Violence Death Review Committee, Chair of the Victim Services Alliance of Ontario and Chair of the Crisis Workers Society of Ontario. Kimberley has a B.A, an MBA and a Diploma in Family Mediation. In her current role, her Victim Services Unit received the “International Award of Excellence” in 2016, the “Beyond the Badge” award in 2023 and the Victim Services Award of Distinction in 2023 for the creation and collaborative implementation of a sexual assault reporting practice that places Victim Services as the first point of contact for victims reporting sexual violence in Halton. As a mother and a bereaved mother, Kimberley believes that everyone should have access to effective supports to help them heal from crime and trauma.

AUDETTE SHEPHARD

In 2001, Audette Shephard's only child Justin Garth Shephard was murdered at the age of 19. Afterward, Ms. Shephard developed a strong passion towards helping youth and finding solutions to end youth violence and co-founded UMOVE (United Mothers Opposing Violence Everywhere). Ms. Shephard's awards include the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012), the Scotiabank Global Transaction Banking's "Woman of Distinction" award (2008), the "Global Citizen Award" (2008), the African Canadian Achievement Award (2008), the Maja Award for "Woman of Courage" (2006), and the Bob Marley Award for promoting peace in communities (2002). She was also a member of former Toronto Mayor David Miller's Advisory Committee for Community Safety. Ms. Shephard continues to be a strong advocate for justice, support for victims of crime and community safety and volunteers with the Seventh Day Adventist Church Prison Ministry. She is currently Manager, Trade Finance and Global Transaction Banking at Scotiabank.
