Legal Aid Ontario


Charles Harnick is currently a Mediator and Arbitrator at Yorkstreet Dispute Resolution Group/ADR Chambers as well as Senior Adjudicative Officer at Ontario Insurance Ombuds Service. He is the founding Partner and Principal at Counsel Public Affairs Inc. Previously, he served as a MPP for Willowdale and is the former Attorney General of Ontario and Minister responsible for Native Issues at Government of Ontario. He has served the boards of several organizations, including: Goldstone Resources Inc., Micromem Technologies Inc., Ontex Resources Ltd. and Ornge. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from York University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Windsor.


is Vice President, Human Resources with The Vector Institute. He is an Associate Senior Consultant at LHH Knightsbridge. Mr. Wexler's community involvement includes serving as a board member for Cancer Care Ontario and Vaughan Community HealthCare Corporation.


Judy Mintz is a former member for Council of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, and a former Commissioner (part-time) for the Canadian Human Rights Commission. Her community involvement includes serving as a member for Hadassah-Wizo of Hamilton, and formerly as an associate director for York Condominium Corporation.


Jennifer Gold is a Manager at Wood Gold LLP, and a former Associate Lawyer for Binsky Campbell/Campbell & Associates LLP. Her community involvement includes serving as President (formerly Vice-President and Director) for the Women's Law Association of Ontario.


Peter Johnson is a retired lawyer who practiced in the area of immigration. He holds a Bachelor in Arts and Master in Arts from Western University and a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School (York University).


Deborah Moriah is an executive assistance for Dennery Resources Inc., and a sole proprietor for Moriah Paralegal: Legal and Administrative Services. Her community involvement includes serving as founding member of the Ontario Association of Black Paralegals (OABP) Establishment Committee.


John Callaghan is a partner of GowlingWLG. John is a civil and administrative litigator who has appeared in a wide array of cases. John was a former Bencher of the Law Society of Ontario, a member of the Civil Rules Committee for Ontario and the chair of the Law Society’s legal aid working group.


Bryn Gray is a partner at McCarthy Tetrault LLP and specializes in corporate/commercial disputes and Aboriginal law. He has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Federal Court, and all levels of court in Ontario and previously served as a Ministerial Special Representative on consultation and accommodation for Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada. He is actively involved in McCarthy's Tetrault's pro bono and diversity and inclusion initiatives and is a member of McCarthy's National Pro Bono Committee and the Ontario Regional Lead for its Pride Action Group. Bryn previously served on the Board of Directors of Casey House, a specialty hospital providing care and support for people living with HIV/AIDS.


Julia Bailey is a lawyer and panel member for the Office of the Children’s Lawyer. Her community involvement includes serving as a Director for the Seven South Street.
