Judicial Appointments Advisory Committee

CHERYL SIRAN

Cheryl Siran received her Bachelor of Laws (2005) from Robson Hall at the University of Manitoba and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2006. She is currently the managing partner at Hook, Seller & Lundin LLP in Kenora practicing primarily in the fields of real estate transactions and civil and estate litigation. Cheryl has been actively involved in volunteering in the legal community throughout her career despite the challenges faced in doing so from a rural/remote location in the province. Cheryl is a Past Chair of the Federation of Ontario Law Associations (FOLA), formerly the County and District Law Presidents’ Association (CDLPA). She was Chair from May 2014 to November 2015 and was a Board member from May 2011 to May 2018. Cheryl also currently sits on the Board of the Ontario Deputy Judges Association, and in her local community on the PUFF (Pellatt United Fire Fighters) Board of Directors.

KAVITA BHAGAT

Kavita Bhagat, of Brampton, is a Certified Specialist in Family Law and a Mediator and Arbitrator. She serves as a Family Dispute Resolution Instructor for York University. Kavita’s community involvement includes serving as a volunteer board member with Volunteer Mississauga Brampton Caledon and she previously served as a board member with the Family Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario.

KARIN VOGT

Karin Vogt is an Assistant to Chief Operating Officer and Communications Director at CURIE. Karin is a former Campaign Manager at United Way Burlington and Greater Hamilton. Karin’s community involvement includes serving as President for Canadian Club of Hamilton, and Fundraising Chair for Ancaster AM Rotary Club.

HOLLY HAIRE

Holly graduated post secondary with a diploma in business marketing. Holly has experience with being a successful entrepreneur having opened her first small business in 2016. Holly opened an indoor playground centre, which she successfully operated for five years. Prior to that, Holly worked as an Executive Assistant for a Member of Parliament. She was directly responsible for consulting with constituents, engaging with stakeholders, and promoting the available programs the federal government offered. Holly also has worked for the Town of Wasaga Beach as their Special Events Coordinator, with a focus on growing the event tourism industry. Holly has been active volunteer, having served as President of the Rotary Club of Wasaga Beach and volunteering as a board member with Big Brothers Big Sister of The Georgian Triangle. Holly currently owns and operates her own event and charcuterie company based in Simcoe County.

SCOTT MUNNOCH

Starting his career in corporate public affairs, Scott transitioned into government, working closely with many Canadian leaders, both federally and provincially. Scott served as Executive Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tour Director for the Prime Minister of Canada and a Senior Advisor to the Premier of Ontario. Scott’s deep knowledge of Government and political processes, and his extensive network across Canada, have served client interests at the federal, provincial and municipal levels. His experience includes senior organizing positions with international summits and tours, including the G-7. In 1997, Scott was named a Member of the Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for his work on the Royal Tours to Canada. Scott is a graduate of both Queen’s University and the University of Windsor where he also played varsity football. He served as President of the Albany Club of Toronto from 2014-2016.
