Robert Brunet is a registered patent agent and founder of the firm Brunet & Co. He received a BESc. and MESc. in Chemical Engineering from Western University and has been a PEng since 1997. Prior to becoming a patent agent, he worked in R&D, QA and management for a leading water treatment equipment manufacturer. He served as President of an Ontario wind energy technology company until its sale in 2013. In the community, he lectures on IP strategy for TechAlliance and mentor’s student-run start-up technology companies in the Propel and Accelerator programs at Western University.
Mr. Lorne Cutler has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business. He worked as computer process engineer for Dow Chemical for four years and received his PEO in 1983. Upon completing his MBA, he joined Export Development Canada in 1985 where he was responsible for signing loans in excess of $1billion in India, Central and Eastern Europe and the former-Soviet Union. As Senior Advisor in EDC's International Business Development Group, he was responsible for country and sector development strategies, relationship management with Canadian banks and exporters, and implementation of various international financing facilities. He founded LAC & Associates Consulting in 2009. LAC & Associates provides consulting services to the private, public and NGO sectors in the areas of finance, taxation, trade development and public policy. Mr. Cutler has extensive volunteer experience in various community and financial organizations and has received Ontario Citizenship awards and the Diamond Jubilee Medal for his volunteer work.
Scott Schelske is a retired, licensed, Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and have worked as an engineer for 45 years since graduation with a BSc in Mining Engineering from Queen’s University in May 1975. After 27 years in the mining industry, where he held such positions as: Chief Engineer at the Griffith Mine, Quarry Manager at Cold Spring Granite, Manager of Mining and Engineering at the Lac Des Illes Mine and as the Regional Mineral Development Consultant with MNDM. He transitioned into Civil Engineering with a small consulting firm. Ultimately, I wound up spending over the last decade of my career working with Canada’s Indigenous People managing a Tribal Council technical services department, responsible for Project Managing Capital Construction and the Operation and Maintenance of Band owned facilities and utilities. I have been named a Fellow of Engineer’s Canada and in April 2020, will be admitted to PEO’s Order of Honor for service to the engineering profession.
Arjan Arenja is currently President for Spectrum Business Development Inc. Arjan is a former Acting Division Manager and Project and Construction Manager for Bruce Power. Arjan’s community involvement includes serving as Treasurer and Vice Chair, and Member of the Government Liaison Committee for Professional Engineers Ontario and Board Director for Electrical Safety Authority. Arjan is also a member of the board of directors of Engineers Canada
William Dryland is a Senior Technologist and Associate of R.V. Anderson Associates Limited with over 33 years of experience in inspection and contract administration. Certification in WHMIS, St. John’s Ambulance, Safety Training, and Contract Administration Training Program. Involved with multi-discipline projects in the mechanical, electrical, SCADA and process works for both water and waste water plants. As vice-president of Professional Affairs and Services Board (PASB), William was an integral member of council and the OACETT Administration Board (OAB).
is an Analog Designer with Advanced Micro Devices. He was previously employed as an Engineering Supervisor with Environment Canada and has worked in Space Exploration Operations for the Canadian Space Agency. He holds a B.A.Sc. from the University of Toronto.
