Grant Review Team - Champlain - Ontario Trillium Foundation

GEORGE CHRISTOFF

George Christoff is principal of an architectural and ADR practice; registered with Ontario Association of Architects; and member of ADR Institute Ontario/Canada. He has been the only Ontario architect-volunteer fire-fighter; and has extensive volunteer experience with community policing, fire services, youth justice, not-for-profit entities and building/fire codes. He has mediation and arbitration experience in adjudicative justice process both privately and in professional regulatory complaints, fit for practice and discipline tribunals. With cross Canada experience, he has spoken at industry seminars on construction contract administration, claims and dispute resolution.

FRANCOIS BOSSE

Francois Robert Bosse, of Plantagenet, is a graduate of the Royal Military College of Canada ('09) and a business postgrad of HEC-Montreal ('14). He has been a management consultant since 2014. He has assisted with the development of several startups with their strategy positioning, financing, and matters of value creation. He is adept at the Blue Ocean principles of value innovation and is a co-founder of TimeOut, a nutrition company based in Ottawa, Ontario. Since 2021, he is a Certified Management Consultant registered in Canada. He currently occupies the position of Chief Executive Officer of TimeOut Tribe Inc., developing and commercializing endurance, recovery, and hydration formulations. He is also an open-water scuba diver and holds a private pilot license.

BHARATI DESAI

Bharati Desai is a trusted, reliable senior accountant with over 33 years of experience. She also founded and operates OM Bookkeeping and Tax Services Inc. Bharati holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and a Bachelor of Law in Taxation. Throughout her career, she has distinguished herself as a reliable, highly ethical, and detail-oriented accounting expert with well-rounded business skills resulting in numerous recommendations, testimonials, and referrals. On several occasions, Bharati has been recognized for her volunteer commitments. Her most recent volunteer experience was as a tax consultant at Pinecrest-Queensway Health and Community Services, where she received two certificates of appreciation from the Canada Revenue Agency for her participation in the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program.

KURT STOODLEY

Kurt Stoodley is a native Newfoundlander, Kurt has been a part of the Ottawa landscape since 2000, when he joined the New RO as a Sports Anchor. Soon after, Kurt became host of CTV Morning Live, a local morning television program that featured news, weather, traffic, as well as interviews with local organizations, businesses, and local newsmakers. As Host of CTV Morning Live for over a dozen years, Kurt became involved with dozens of charitable organizations as a Master of Ceremonies, volunteer, and promoter of various events in and around the Ottawa area. Following a 35-year career in Radio and Television, Kurt become a Professional Realtor in 2014, and joined ReMax Affiliates, and remains with Ottawa’s largest ReMax Brokerage to this day. You’ll also find Kurt hosting live broadcasts of Ottawa 67’s Hockey on Rogers TV, as well as attending and participating in various community events. Kurt is married to former TV producer and now Shopify Broadcast Team Lead, Erin Lannan. He has 2 children, Shannon, 33, and Keeghan, 25, as well as 2 grandchildren, Colin and Nora.

ANVER MALAM

Anver Malam holds an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Windsor, Ontario and has been a licensed professional engineer in the Province of Ontario since 1985. Anver held progressively responsible positions in global telecommunications companies such as Nortel, Cisco, Ciena & Genband and also worked as a consultant specializing in opto-electronic component processing and automation engineering. Over a period of 40 years, Anver spearheaded many charitable initiatives in the community to support hospital fundraising, food banks, and global victims of natural disasters. Anver worked within local ethnic groups and communities and provided guidance through education and counseling establishing cultural schools to meet the educational needs of growing communities.

RUTH MACQUEEN

Ruth is a retiree, living in the village of Maxville in Eastern Ontario. Ruth grew up in Glengarry County and travelled to St. Francis Xavier University, to complete a BA in Psychology. Following that Ruth worked on a short research project at the National Museum of Nature in Ottawa. Ruth worked with the local Community Living Association involved with the day program, supporting the adult individuals with a wide variety of needs. After 10 years there, Ruth moved on to a Psychometrist/Behavior Consultant position. Ruth worked with families, schools, group homes, Community Living groups, and individuals. This job covered both adults and children with disabilities. Ruth stayed with this job for over 27 years. It was so satisfying and rewarding, there was no need to seek out anything else!

MISCHA KAPLAN

Mischa Kaplan is the Executive Director of Business Services at Scouts Canada. An experienced non-profit leader and community volunteer, Mischa has also held executive positions with Cystic Fibrosis Canada and Ottawa Tourism. A past recipient of Ottawa's Forty Under 40 award, Mischa has also served as a part-time professor in the School of Business at Algonquin College since 2017. Mischa holds degrees from Carleton University, McGill University, and the London School of Economics, and holds several professional HR designations, including the CHRP and CHRL designations via the Human Resources Professionals Association and a CPHR designation from CPHR Canada. Mischa has a long history of serving on non-profit boards in the Ottawa area, and currently serves as a director at large on both the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation board and the Ottawa Markets board. He previously served for four years as the vice-chair of the Ottawa Board of Trade.
