Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council
NADA ELBARD
Nada Elbard, of Toronto, is Vice-President of Business Development at Brokers Trust Insurance Group and is the former Vice-President of Operations and Client Solutions at Arthur J. Gallagher Canada. Nada’s community involvement has included serving as a member of the Inclusion and Diversity Council at Arthur J. Gallagher Canada Limited.
JOHN GIGNAC
John Gignac has been a firefighter for 34 years. John’s community involvement includes serving as the Executive Director of the Hawkins-Gignac Foundation for Co Education for the past 13 years.
DANIEL WORRALL
Dan Worrall CD is currently a Fire Captain with the Municipality of Clarington. Dan sits on the Ministry of Labour – Section 21 Committee (Fire) as the Labour Chair. This position, as well as that of the committees, is to oversee the development, upkeep, and implementation of guidance notes. These guidance notes are utilized across Ontario and serve as best practices, which are then used to develop policies and procedures for Ontario’s fire departments. He also serves as the Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association Health and Safety Chair where his responsibilities have him organizing, developing, and addressing issues that affect the over 13,000 career firefighters in Ontario. Dan has recently retired from the Canadian Armed Forces (Reserve) where he spent over 36 years serving Canada. Dan’s completed the Ontario Fire Colleges Company Officer program in 2015. He is also an Adjunct Instructor with the Ontario Fire College and is a Resilient Minds Instructor.
DANNY WHALEN
Danny Whalen was born and raised in the area and is married to Suzanne with two daughters Trina and Tracey. They also have two granddaughters Mya and Lily and a grandson Calvin to whom they devote much of their time. Danny recently received a 25-year appreciation certificate from the Province of Ontario for service to the community. Danny also holds the position of President of the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities (FONOM) and holds a seat on the Executive for the Association of Municipalities Ontario (AMO). Danny feels privileged to represent the community and being retired allows Danny to devote full time to bettering the municipality and Northeastern Ontario.
JEREMY PARKIN
Jeremy Parkin, of Rama, is Director of Emergency Services at Chippewas of Rama First Nation . Jeremy’s community involvement includes serving as Chair of the Pre-Service Firefighting Program Advisory Committee for Georgian College.
