Minister's Advisory Council On Special Education


Stacey Manzerolle is a Classroom Teacher for Upper Grand District School Board. Her community involvement includes serving as a Basketball score and record keeper for Athlete Institute. Stacey holds a Master of Education from University of Calgary.


Peggy Blair joined the leadership team at Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) in February 2018 as a Superintendent of Specialized Services. In her role, Peggy oversees Glenwood Special Day School and Specialized Services, which includes Special Education, Autism and Neurodevelopmental, Speech and Language, and Psychological Services, as well as Care, Treatment, Custody and Corrections. (CTCC). Prior to her leadership role in HWDSB, Peggy was a Superintendent of Education at the Avon Maitland District School Board, a Principal in the Lambton Kent District School, and a Coordinator of Special Education for the Grand Erie District School Board.


Kerrie St Jean is a Manager Operations, International Affairs for The Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB). Her community involvement includes serving as a Trustee for the Rainbow District School Board.


Michael Jacques is a front-end clerk for Sobeys. His community involvement includes formerly serving as a Board member for Community Living Welland/Pelham and Community Living Ontario.


Ben Smith has been a student leader in both his local community and at the provincial level. He has served as a student trustee with the York Catholic District School Board, as Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario Student Trustees Association, and on a Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility’s Standards Development Committee. He is also a Champion with the Learning Disabilities Association of York Region, where he has been an ambassador of the association to students and stakeholders. A graduate of St. Brother Andre Catholic High School in Markham, he is now pursuing studies at Ryerson University.
