Appointee Biographies

MARY TEN DOESCHATE

Mary ten Doeschate has served on the Peterborough Police Service Board since November 2020. She has continuously held the position of Police Service Board Chair since April 2022. She has served on the Finance Committee as Vice-Chair and Chair and was recently appointed to the Policy/Planning Committee in January 2025. Mary has a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario, a Broadcast Journalism diploma from Fanshawe College and has completed the Leadership Development Certificate from Fleming College. She is bilingual in French and English. Mary is employed as the Canadian Customer Service and Operations Manager for World’s Finest Chocolate. Her volunteer experience includes the role of Information Outreach Chair with the Canadian Cancer Society Chatham-Kent branch and being a member of her neighbourhood volunteer group, assisting two Syrian families to settle into their homes in Peterborough. Family life in Peterborough is very important to Mary and her husband Steve. Together they have two children, Cole and Emma.
