VICTOR SUTHREN

Victor Suthren is a writer and historian and former museum professional. He was born in Montreal, Quebec, and after studies at Bishop’s University, McGill and Concordia (MA History, 1970), entered the Canadian Public Services. From 1986 to 1997 he served as Director General of the Canadian War Museum. He has written fourteen books and advises film and television productions. He and his wife Lindsay, an artist have lived in Merrickville since 2005, and he served as a Town Councillor from 2010 to 2018. He was commissioned in the RCNR in 1964 and from 1997 to 2014 served as Honorary Captain(N) to the Commander, Royal Canadian Navy. He received the Canadian Forces Decoration (CD) and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.
