Police Services Board - Kawartha Lakes (City of)

WANDA PERCIVAL

Wanda Percival is a retired educator, formerly working as a teacher, vice-principal and principal (Trillium District School Board and Victoria County Board of Education) and as an Education Officer with the Ministry of Education. Following her retirement, she has been actively involved in the community and is currently volunteering with several organizations including: Ross Memorial Hospital – Chair of the Board of Governors; Member of the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Services Board, currently serving as Vice-Chair; Cambridge Street United Church – chair of the Fundraising Committee, secretary of the Finance Committee and member of the Board of Trustees.

VALMAY BARKEY

Valmay Barkey has been a resident of the Kawartha Lakes for 60 years and has been actively engaged in her community during that time, including voluntary engagements such as Rotary and the Academy Theatre, as well as career as the Director of Community Care City of Kawartha Lakes. During her employment, she directed the development of support services for seniors and persons with special needs, including a collaborative response to Elder Abuse, the development of a Community Health Centre and the construction of Village Housing, a 70 unit apartment building for seniors and tenants who require an accessible environment. She also twice served as Chair of the Ross Memorial hospital during her tenure as board member. In retirement, she served on the Board of the Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) as well as President of the local Women’s Probus Club. She currently serves as Vice Chair of the Kawartha Lakes Police Services.
