The Ontario Military Defence Representative is the primary representative of the Ontario government for the military and defence sector. This position would:
• Advance strategic priorities for Ontario by supporting defence sector growth, trade diversification, and mutual provincial and federal defence objectives, leveraging existing in-market presence and global networks.
• Foster strategic relationships with military and defence contacts including government officials, corporate clients, in-market partners and industry and business.
• Collaborate with Ontario’s existing international network of Trade and Investment Offices (TIOs) and throughout the government to amplify and promote the province’s priorities and advance Ontario’s defence sector opportunities across allied markets.
• Work with relevant counterparts and stakeholders across NATO countries, Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and the Indo-Pacific regions to promote Ontario’s defence sector in global markets and attract defence investment to Ontario.
• Coordinate Ontario’s interests and ensure alignment with the broader NATO and global industrial and procurement environment.
• Accelerate Ontario’s defence sector market access in NATO, MENA, and the Indo-Pacific regions and establish measurable deliverables tied to defence manufacturing and technology.
