- Function
As a public hospital in Ontario, Grand River Hospital must be governed and managed by a board of directors in accordance with applicable law, including the Public Hospitals Act and its regulations.
- Membership
The board of directors of the Grand River Hospital corporation consists of thirteen board members, elected by the members of the corporation in accordance with the provisions of the corporation’s By-Laws. The Lieutenant Governor in Council may appoint one or more provincial hospital representatives to the board.
- Term
Provincial hospital representatives are appointed for a term not exceeding three years.
- Meetings
- The annual meeting of members shall be held at the head office of the corporation or at any place in the Regional Municipality of Waterloo as the board determines between April 1st and July 31st in each year on a date fixed by the board.
- Remuneration
No remuneration for provincial hospital representatives.
