Function

The authority is responsible for managing, operating and developing the airport for the public benefit and in a way that is safe, efficient and financially viable.

Membership

The authority is a not-for-profit corporation headed by nine directors representing the City, Chamber of Commerce, federal and provincial governments, as well as labour interests. The nominee of the Government of Ontario is selected by means of a Ministerial Appointment letter. The nominee is then formally appointed by the board.

Term

Directors serve for a term of three years and are eligible for reappointment.

Meetings

The board meets once a month. More frequent meetings occur during transfer negotiations.

Remuneration

Appointees are paid by the Board.
