Function

The authority is responsible for managing, operating and developing the airport for the public benefit and in a way that is safe, efficient and financially viable.

Membership

The authority is a non-profit corporation headed by fifteen directors representing the regional/municipal, federal and provincial governments as well as labour, business and consumer interests. The nominee of the Government of Ontario is selected by means of a Ministerial Appointment letter. The nominee is then formally appointed by the board.

Term

Directors serve for a term of three years and are eligible for reappointment for a further three year term, to a maximum of nine years in total.

Meetings

The board meets quarterly.

Remuneration

Appointees are paid by the Board.
