Background

St. Lawrence Parks Commission Act, RSO 1990, C. S.24, S. 2 (opens a new window)

Function

The commission develops and maintains historic and recreational resources along the St. Lawrence River from Kingston to the Quebec border. The mandate of the commission is to provide recreational and tourism opportunities for residents of Eastern Ontario and visitors to the province.

Membership

The Lieutenant Governor in Council appoints not less than three and not more than fifteen members and designates one of the members as chair and may designate another member as vice-chair.

Term

There is no limitation in legislation.

Meetings

The commission meets quarterly. Meetings are held within the commission's jurisdiction.

Remuneration

Appointees are remunerated according to Schedule A, Level 1 of the Agencies and Appointments Directive
