Function

The foundation provides time-limited grants to not-for-profit charitable organizations in four sectors: social and human services, arts and culture, sports and recreation, and the environment.

Membership

The members are the board of directors of the foundation. The Lieutenant Governor in Council approves not more than twenty-five members for election to the board.

Term

Members will be appointed for terms of one, two or three years to a maximum of three terms.

Meetings

The committee meets four to five times per year in person and four to six times via teleconference calls. Meetings are usually held in Toronto. Fifty to one hundred and fifty hours of preparation is required per year.

Remuneration

Appointees are eligible to receive expenses.
