Background

Function

Destination Ontario markets Ontario as a travel destination; undertakes joint marketing initiatives with the tourism industry; supports and assists the marketing efforts of the tourism industry; and in co-operation with the tourism industry, the Government of Ontario, other governments and other agencies of governments, promotes Ontario as a travel destination.

Membership

The members of the Corporation form and are its board of directors. The Lieutenant Governor in Council appoints not less than three members, and designates one of the members as chair and one of the members as vice-chair of the board of directors.

Term

Members are appointed for a term determined by the Lieutenant Governor in Council but not exceeding three years.

Meetings

The board meets at least four times a year.

Remuneration

Appointees are eligible to receive expenses.
