The agency is responsible for delivering personal support services in accordance with the following objects: provide personal support services within the meaning of the Home Care and Community Services Act, 1994; promote and provide flexibility for clients or their substitute decision-makers in respect of: a) the choice of the employees of the corporation who will provide personal support services to the client, and b) the scheduling of the times when personal support services will be provided by the corporation to the client; ensure the effective and efficient management of the human, material and financial resources of the corporation; and do such other complementary purposes not inconsistent with these objects.
The Board of Directors consists of a minimum of three and a maximum of seven members nominated by the Lieutenant Governor in Council. The Lieutenant Governor in Council approves the Chair of the Board for election by the Board.
Members are nominated for appointment for a term of up to three years and may be renominated.
- Meetings are held regularly throughout the year, approximately once a month.
- Appointees are remunerated according to Schedule A, Level 1 of the Agencies and Appointments Directive
