The board's mandate is to acquire, construct, equip and operate a wholesale fruit and produce market, and operate such facility for the transportation, distribution, and handling of fruit and produce.
The Lieutenant Governor in Council (LGIC) appoints at least five and not more than thirteen members and appoints one member as chair and one as vice-chair.
Candidates should have a good understanding of the operation of the Ontario Food Terminal and the fruit and produce industry. Strong strategic thinking, decision-making and dispute resolution skills, are all considered assets.
Members are appointed by the LGIC for a term of up to 3 years and are eligible for reappointment.
- The board meets approximately 10 to 12 times per year.
