Grain Financial Protection Board

TYLER MCBLAIN

Tyler McBlain is the Owner/Manager for McBlain Farms Ltd. His community involvement includes serving as a Captain for County of Brant Fire Dept. Tyler holds a diploma in Agriculture.

JENNIFER DOELMAN

Jennifer Doelman is an independent Agronomist and farmer in Renfrew County. Aside from traditional grains and oilseeds, Jennifer’s farm grows a diversity of crops including cereals for seed production, sunflowers, canola and honey bees for honey production and pollination. She graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Agricultural Science, and an Alumni of the Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program. Jennifer serves as a Delegate with the Grain Farmers of Ontario, a District representative with the Ontario Canola Growers Association, and as a Director with the Renfrew County Soil and Crop Improvement Association.

JEFF BARLOW

Jeff Barlow, of Hannon, is the General Manager for E. Barlow Farms Inc., and a former Business Development Specialist with Madison Chemical Industries. Jeff’s community involvement includes serving as a Director (District 6 - Haldimand, Brant, Niagara, Wentworth) for the Grain Farmers of Ontario and as a voting member with the Ontario Corn Committee.

KEITH BLACK

Keith Black has been involved in local agriculture as a member of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, and an agricultural representative of the Drinking Source Protection Committee since its inception. Black is a past President of the Huron County Soil and Crop Improvement Association and served on the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association Executive, serving as President in 2006. Black served several years as a Delegate for the Ontario Soybean Growers and was a Director at the time of amalgamation to form Grain Farmers of Ontario (GFO). Black was a GFO Delegate prior to his election as Director for District 8 (Huron) in 2014. As a Director for GFO, Black has served as a member of the Market Development Committee and is currently serving as Chair of the Government Relations Committee, and an appointee on the Agricultural Adaptation Council.

JENNIFER MACDONALD

is an Agronomist at the Huron Bay Co-Operative where she focuses on procurement, field diagnostics, and sales. Ms. MacDonald has been a certified crop advisor since 2000. Her community involvement includes serving as a Manager for the Flesherton Minor Hockey League during the 2015/2016 season, Director/committeeman at the Ontario Canola Growers, and a coach at Markdale Minor Soccer League. Ms. MacDonald obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph.

PAUL HAZZARD

Paul Hazzard is a General manager for Ontariograin.AG LP (operating as Sollio Agriculture), and a former General Manager and CFO for South West Ag Partners, Inc (a Cargill joint venture company). His community involvement includes serving as a board member for Lakeshore Community Church.

NADINE SCHWANDT

Nadine Schwandt is the General Manager for the Feed Division of New-Life Mills (a division of Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited). In her role, she focuses on connecting the production, sales, and nutrition functions of the Feed Division to create a growing, efficient, and customer responsive company. Ms. Schwandt obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Commercial and Administrative Studies from the University of Western Ontario. She joined the New-Life Mills and Parrish & Heimbecker family in 1989 as a member of the order desk team. Through the past 25 years, she has held various positions within the accounting department, been Information System Manager and Credit Manager for Ingredient Purchasing before accepting the role of General Manager in 2004. Ms. Schwandt's industry involvement has included serving as member of the Animal Nutrition Association of Canada, member and past Chair of the Feed Section, and current member of the Board of Directors of the Ontario Agri Business Association. She is also actively involved in her community as Treasurer of the Hanover Curling Club.
