ELAINE MINTZ

Elaine Mintz has extensive experience working in education. Mrs. Mintz was a Student Education Supervisor at both Medaille and Conessius Colleges in Buffalo, New York. Her experience includes working for the Toronto District School Board as an Intense Support Processor, a Special Education Teacher, the Education Quality and Accountability Office and the Ontario Principals Council. For 15 years at York University, Mrs. Mintz interviewed prospective student teachers. She was the first City appointed Board member of Eva's Place Emergency Youth Shelter during the funding, building and programming stages. Mrs. Mintz is an active member of the community and has additionally owned and operated businesses with several locations.

KIMBERLY FAWCETT SMITH

Kimberly Fawcett Smith is a veteran with 20+ years of service in the Canadian armed forces (CAF) as a combat engineer and a transport officer. she served in Afghanistan twice and is the only woman in Canadian history to have served in a war zone with a prosthetic leg. she lost her leg on duty in 2006. she is a decorated para athlete participating in track & field, swimming, and triathlon domestically and internationally. she was inducted into the CAF sports hall of fame in 2011. she has a Master of Architecture and a post graduate specialization in international relations. Kimberly is an advocate for people with disabilities, the elderly and women in S.T.E.M. Kim lives in Scarborough with her husband Curtis, her cat drama llama, and her aussie shepherds, lollipop and Hamilton.

MICHELLE LONGLADE

Michelle Longlade retired from her positions as Director of Standards of Practice and Accreditation at the Ontario College of Teachers in 2015. She has more than 30 years of education leadership experience. Following several years as an elementary and secondary teacher in Manitoba and Ontario, she worked with the Halton Catholic District School Board as a consultant for French as a second language programs and as a vice-principal and principal. Michelle held the positions of course director and faculty adviser in primary-junior teacher education with the York University faculty of education and has worked for the Ministry of Education. Since her retirement, Michelle has done some consulting work in education. She also volunteered with Rotary Club of North Burlington.

JIM BUTTICCI

Jim Butticci amassed a varied professional working career since leaving college in 1983. Jim worked continuously in private sector radio broadcasting serving several communities for more than 16 years as a news reporter/news director before moving into government services in 1999. Jim served as a caucus media relations support staff until joining what is now Infrastructure Ontario as Media/Issues Manager. In 2008, Jim transferred his skills and experiences to serve the Ontario Provincial Police as a strategic communications officer until his retirement in early 2023. Jim was commended for his support of complex OPP criminal investigations and public safety initiatives and was honoured to receive a Life Membership with the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police - unique for civilian non-managers. Since 2004, Jim and his wife, Alison Stoneman (a cancer survivor) have led the organizing committee for the Orillia community run in support of the Terry Fox Foundation for Cancer Research.
