Bereavement Authority of Ontario

LUCY BECKER

Lucy Becker is Vice-President of Public Affairs and Policy at the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority. In addition, she serves as a Public Member on the Governing Council of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and as a Director on the Board of the Bereavement Authority of Ontario. Previously, she was employed as the VP of Public Affairs and Member Education Services for the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) for almost 10 years before retiring in 2022. She has been and continues to be a champion for the protection of consumers – especially seniors – and for equity, diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism. With an extensive regulatory background, Ms. Becker also served as an executive with the Law Society of Upper Canada (now Ontario), was a dedicated Ontario public servant and worked in the investment and brewing sectors. Ms. Becker believes strongly in community and public service and over the years has led various fundraising activities, notably for juvenile diabetes. She is also an elected Volunteer Director with the Don Valley Community Legal Services.

NORMAND ALLAIRE

Normand Allaire is a former Federal Canadian Citizenship Judge who served two terms from 2005 to 2012. Prior to joining the Citizenship Commission, he worked at senior levels in the Ontario Hospital sector for over 25 years. He was President and CEO of Runnymede Healthcare Centre in Toronto for 21 years. He also served as Assistant Administrator at Scarborough General Hospital. He holds a Master of Health Science Administration Degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the Canadian College of Health Leaders and the American College of Healthcare Executives. As a Board Certified hospital executive, Mr. Allaire was an active leader on broad healthcare issues, especially as a member, director, and vice-chair of the then Metropolitan Toronto District Health Council. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc.) from U of T. He is fluently bilingual in French and English and enjoys struggling with Italian.

LEITH COGHLIN

Leith R.A. Coghlin is a public advocacy and public policy professional based in London, Ontario. He is the managing Director of EnPointe Development Incorporated. Since 2015, EnPointe has represented thousands of citizens and privately held companies when navigating government and public policy processes. EnPointe has had significant success in transforming policy and regulatory changes and decision in favor its clientele in policy milieu such as agriculture, bio-medical and pharmaceutical, hospitality, transportation, environmental, natural resources and in municipal affairs. Leith holds a B.A. (Honors) in political science from Huron University College (UWO) and a diploma from the Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. Leith also served for nearly 13 years as an officer in the Canadian Forces reserves.
