SCIENCE NORTH (CENTRE)
DUPUIS, LORRAINE G.Lorraine Dupuis, of Sudbury, is a retired elementary school teacher. Ms. Dupuis worked for the Sudbury & District Catholic School Board for thirty-three years as a science, history and mathematics teacher. She is an active member of the community. She has been a canvasser and fundraiser for the Heart and Stroke Foundation and is a member of the Science North Board of Trustees.
CRAIG, DOUGLAS (DOUG)Doug Craig, of Greater Sudbury, is a former teacher and administrator, retiring from that profession in 1998. Since entering politics in 1994 he has held several leadership positions at the City, including Acting Regional Chair and at present is Deputy Mayor of the city of Greater Sudbury and the Chair, Greater Sudbury Utilities. Mr. Craig has been recognized by the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) for his outstanding contributions to the health and welfare of the citizens of Greater Sudbury and is the recipient of the OMA 2004 Community Service Award.
MACDONALD, JOHNJohn MacDonald has over twenty-eight years experience as an educator. He has taught the secondary school subjects of Science and Mathematics since 1980. Mr. MacDonald earned his Undergraduate degrees in Education and Chemistry from Queen's University, and earned his Undergraduate degree in Life Sciences from the University of Ottawa.
MARRS, GORDONGordon Marrs, of Sudbury, is Manager of Mill and Central Services for Falconbridge Limited. In this position, he is a member of the management team for Sudbury Mines and directs the activities of Falconbridge's Mill as well as the Central Engineering, Shops and Central Maintenance System for the Mines and Energy Systems Programs for all Ontario operations. He is a graduate of Applied Science and Engineering from the University of Toronto with a specialty in Geological Engineering.
DUPUIS, RICHARDRichard Dupuis is a Director with Desjardins Business Centre. Previously, Mr. Dupuis was Manager, Member Services - Class 4 with Caisse Populaire Vermillon Inc. and Account Manager with Caisse Populaire de Chelmsford Limitée. He is a member of the Greater City of Sudbury Chamber of Commerce and member of the Regroupement des gens d'affaires francophone. His previous contributions include the Rayside-Balfour Millenium Committee and the Rayside-Balfour Leisure Trails and Rainbow Routes Committee.
LABERGE, JEFFREYJeffrey Laberge is an Architect at the Sudbury office of JL Richards and Associates Ltd. Mr. Laberge has been responsible for management of a number of significant projects including the Living with Lakes Centre, a high performance green building to be constructed on the shores of Ramsey Lake. Mr. Laberge has been working in the architectural profession for nine years. His practice has included urban, building, interior and graphic design. He is the sole architect in his area to be designated as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited professional. Mr. Laberge has won the Holcim Awards Bronze Prize for North America for his work on the Living With Lakes Centre. He is a member of the steering committee for the Northern Ontario School of Architecture and President of the Northern Ontario Society of Architects.
SALO, DIANEDiane Salo is co-owner and Vice-President of Furniture World. Ms. Salo is a member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Sudbury Sunrises, and has served with the Nickel Basin Development Corporation as a member of the steering committee and as a director. Ms. Salo's previous community involvement includes the Art Gallery of Sudbury and the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce. In 2007, Ms. Salo was appointed Chair of the Advisory Panel to develop a Performing Arts Centre and subsequent Arts District in downtown Greater Sudbury. She attended Laurentian University where she studied Law and Women's Studies
LACROIX, CLAUDE F.Currently a partner at Lacroix Forest LLP, Claude Lacroix practices in the areas of civil litigation, corporate/ commercial disputes, construction law, health and safety compliance, and commercial liability claims. Mr. Lacroix actively participates and contributes on a number of community boards, not-for-profit agencies and professional organizations. He is an executive member of the Laurentian University Board of Governors and Vice-President of the Association of French Speaking Lawyers of Ontario. Previously, he served as President of the Laurentian University Alumni Association and the Sudbury District Law Association, and was a legal panel member of the Canada Pension Plan Appeals Review Tribunal.
