AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF ONTARIO


CRESSMAN, STEWART
Steward Cressman, of Petersburg, was raised on a mixed farm near the village of New Dundee, which he has farmed since 1980, producing beef and pork. A graduate of the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture and a Master of Science degree in Ruminant Nutrition, he worked for the Ministry of Agriculture and Food as a Dairy Cattle Specialist prior to farming. Mr. Cressman has been active in his county's Cattlemen's and Pork Producer's Associations holding various positions including that of President. Currently, he serves at the provincial level as a member of Ontario Pork's Research Committee and Ontario Cattlemen's Advisory Council.


MILLIGAN, LARRY
Dr. Larry Patrick Milligan, of Guelph, relocated from the University of Alberta, where he was a faculty member and Chair of the Department of Animal Science, to the University of Guelph where he assumed the position of Dean and later, Vice President of Research. Currently, he continues to carry out special projects for the Office of Research and is a University Professor Emeritus at the University of Guelph. He is a member of the Science and Engineering Advisory Committee of the Alberta Ingenuity Fund, the Board of the Premier's Excellence in Research Awards in Ontario, and is Chair of the Board of Bioenterprise. Dr. Milligan holds a Ph. D. in Nutrition and Biochemistry from the University of California and a Master of Science in Animal Nutrition and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Alberta.


CONN, ALMA
Dr. Alma Conn, of Teeswater, is currently the President of the Council of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario. She was the Food Protection Veterinarian of Blyth Veterinary Services for 23 years, and also served for eight years on the Bruce County Board of Education. Dr. Conn was a volunteer with the St. John's Ambulance Therapy Dog Program.


SANDERSON, TOM
Dr. Tom Sanderson, of Maxwell, is a Veterinarian who was part of a Private Farm Animal Veterinary Practice for 20 years. He has been a consultant at the University of Montreal, the Ontario Veal Association, the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food and Health Canada. He is a Life Member and past President of the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association.


SKINNER, LARRY
Larry Skinner is a full-time swine farmer in Listowel, Ontario. Mr. Skinner has served on a variety of committees including the Ontario Pork Producers Marketing Board, the Canadian Pork Council for Ontario, and the Perth County Pork Producers Association. Currently, Mr. Skinner is a member of the Agricultural Research Institute of Ontario. His past community involvement includes coaching with Wallace Minor Hockey, Wallace Minor Soccer, and Listowel Minor Baseball Association and serving on the Wallace Township Recreation Board.

SURGEONER, GORDON
Dr. Gordon Surgeoner, of Guelph, served for 28 years as a faculty member of Ontario Agriculture College, University of Guelph. He is currently President of Ontario Agri-Food Technologies, a not-for-profit consortium of grower associations, universities, private sector companies and government agencies. He has served on numerous federal and provincial advisory committees.

DANGI, OM P.
Dr. Om P. Dangi is a Plant Scientist and President and CEO of Agriculture Environmental Renewal Inc. Dr. Dangi is internationally recognized as a leading expert in the subject matter of plant breeding and genetics as it relates to sorghum and millet. Dr. Dangi has over thirty-five years of international research experience. He has developed research programs with universities, international research institutes, governments and private organizations from around the world. In addition, Dr. Dangi has supervised and trained students, technical staff and professional scientists in creating successful bilateral sorghum research programs. Dr. Dangi is a member of the Canadian Seed Trade Association, Associate member of the Canadian Seed Growers Association, member of the Ontario Institute of Agrologists, and member of the Agriculture Institute of Canada.

HENDERSON, PAUL
Paul Henderson served as a Board member of the Dairy Farmers of Ontario representing region 3 for twenty years and Chair of the National Promotion for Dairy Farmers of Canada for three years. In addition, Mr. Henderson served as Board member and Chair of the Agriculture Adaptation Council and Board member of the Dairy Herd Improvement Association. He was Chair of the Grenville Milk Committee, member of the Spencerville Agricultural Society and coached minor hockey for six years.

JOHNSTON, ELIZABETH
Elizabeth Johnston served as President of the Listowel Junior Farmers as well as the Perth County Junior Farmers. Recently, she completed a two year term as President of the Listowel Agricultural Society. Ms. Johnston is President of the Huron-Perth Cattle Feeders' Co-operative as well as the Secretary for the Board of Managers at Knox Presbyterian Church in Listowel. In addition, she works on her family beef farm.
