BAUER, ANTHONYDr. Anthony Bauer is Associate Professor of the School of Kinesiology at Lakehead University. He is also a Kinesiology Consultant specializing in Lifestyle Counselling, Ergonomics, Exercise Therapy, and Personal Training. In addition, Dr. Bauer was a member of the Canadian Rugby National Team from 1976 until 1979.
CHAPMAN, ELIZABETH ANNEMs. Chapman is a Business Development Manager for Canada with BTE Technologies, where she works with clinicians to improve their practices using BTE assessment and rehabilitation technology, and works with employers to develop customized solutions to reduce injuries and better manage them when they do occur. Ms. Chapman has served as a member and Past President of the Ontario Kinesiology Association and the Canadian Kinesiology Alliance. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo.
GLENN, CONNYConny Glenn is a Consultant for the Ontario Pedorthists, primarily responsible for providing advice regarding health care regulation. Ms. Glenn is also Director for the Canadian National Ergonomics Conference. Previously, she was Executive Director and President of the Ontario Kinesiology Association. Ms. Glenn serves as Chair of the Board of Turning Point Youth Services, and as member of the Council on Licensure Enforcement and Regulation, the Ontario Kinesiology Association, the Canadian Professional Sales Association, and the Company of Women.
HAMID, AYUBAyub Hamid holds professional membership with the Society of Management Accountants of Canada and the Information System Audit and Control Association, USA. Mr. Hamid is a Senior Auditor with Symcor in Mississauga. Previously, he was Associate Director, IT Audit with MCAP, Manager of Internal Audit with ATS Automation Tooling Systems, and a Financial System and Controls Leader with Wescast Industries Inc. Mr. Hamid serves as President of the Canadian Institute for Policy Studies, and in the past served on boards of various charitable and not-for-profit organizations.
HARE, RODNEYRod Hare has more than twenty-seven years of clinical work experience as an applied Kinesiologist in physical and rehabilitative medicine, athletic therapy, and occupational health ergonomics. Throughout his professional career, Mr. Hare has owned and operated multidisciplinary rehabilitation clinics, assessment facilities, occupational health and safety, and medical litigation consulting firms. He is a Certified Kinesiologist, a Registered Kinesiotherapist, and a Professional Ergonomist. He holds a Master of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from Madison University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education from the University of Western Ontario, and an Athletic Therapy Diploma from Sheridan College.
LAFRENIERE, P. DOUGLASP. Douglas Lafreniere holds an Honours Bachelor of Physical Education and a Master of Science in Kinesiology degree from McMaster University. Mr. Lafreniere is a Certified Kinesiologist with the Ontario Kinesiology Association, a Certified Exercise Physiologist with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP), and a Master Examiner for the Certified Personal Trainer designation with CSEP. He has been a Board member for the Canadian Coalition for Active Living, the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology's Health and Fitness Program - Technical Committee, the Ontario Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences, the Ontario Kinesiology Association, and the Loyalist College Board of Governors. In 2004, Mr. Lafreniere received the Ontario Association for Sports and Exercise Sciences' Honourary Award for his contribution to the health and fitness industry in Ontario.
MCCARTNEY, NEILDr. Neil McCartney is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Kinesiology at McMaster University in Hamilton. Dr. McCartney has an international reputation for his research on cardiac rehabilitation, aging and spinal cord injury. He was a founding member of the Canadian Association of Cardiac Rehabilitation (CACR) and a contributing author to the CACR National Guidelines. Dr. McCartney was also a contributing author to the Canadian Cardiovascular Society Guidelines on Cardiac Rehabilitation for the Older Patient. In addition, he is the Director of the McMaster Centre for Health Promotion and Rehabilitation, which houses large community programs for individuals with coronary heart disease, spinal cord injury, and healthy seniors.
MCGILL, STUARTDr. Stuart M. McGill is a Professor of Spine Biomechanics at the University of Waterloo. Dr. McGill is the author of two textbooks and over two-hundred scientific publications that address the issues of low back function, injury mechanisms, development of evidence-based rehabilitation and performance exercise. As a consultant, Dr. McGill has provided low back expertise to various government agencies, corporations, legal firms, elite athletes, professional teams and Olympic programs from many countries.
MEGHIE, MICHELLE D.Michelle Meghie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from York University. Ms. Meghie has extensive community and human services experience. She has worked in the public sector with the City of Toronto for over twenty years in the divisions of Children Services and Social Services. Within her tenure in the Department of Community and Social Services she held several specialized mandates that included Quality Control and Assurance, Appeals, Community Outreach, and Social Benefit Eligibility Review.
NADEAU, DENISEDenise Nadeau has been working at Sensenbrenner Hospital in Kapuskasing since 1991 as Manager of the Physiotherapy Department, and is currently Manager of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Services. She has been involved in various community organizations including volunteering with the Kapuskasing and Area Therapeutic Riding Association. Ms. Nadeau holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Ottawa.
NAJMUDIN, MURTAZAMurtaza Najmudin is Head Chiropodist with The Foot Clinic in St. Catharines, and a Chiropodist and owner of Total Foot and Ankle in Grimsby, Ontario. Previously, Mr. Najmudin was a Systems Engineer with The Network Group in Toronto and an Associate Professor with Sheridan College in Brampton. He is a Board member and Public Lecturer with the Canadian Diabetes Association. Mr. Najmudin also holds membership with the Society of Chiropodists of Ontario, the Ontario College of Chiropody, the Muslim Association of Professionals, and the American Muslim Health Professional Association.
RALPH, MAUREENMaureen Ralph has been a Registered Nurse for over thirty-one years, and has worked in the areas of Psychiatry, Occupational Health and in the Operating Room. Mrs. Ralph holds Canadian Nurses' Association Certification in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, and is currently employed in Community Mental Health. She has also been an elected official in municipal politics for the past seventeen years. Currently, she serves as the Deputy Mayor of East Zorra-Tavistock. In addition, Mrs. Ralph has served as Chair of the Oxford County Housing Corporation, Vice-Chair of the Oxford Community Police Service Board, Director of Erie Thames Hydro Corporation, life member of the Canadian Kennel Club, and Vice-President of the Oxford County Kennel Club.
ROSS, ROBERTRobert Ross is a Professor with the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies, and the Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism with Queen's University. Professor Ross is a member of the Healthy Weights Committee, a Spokesperson with Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, and is Director with the Centre for Obesity Research and Education. He holds membership with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology, the American College of Sports Medicine, the North American Association for the Study of Obesity, and the Canadian Federation of Biological Sciences. In addition, Professor Ross is a Scientific Advisory Board member of the Canadian Sugar Institute and Sanofi-Aventis Canada.
