Function:  The board meets at the call of the Ontario Securities Commission and, when requested by the commission, it consults with and advises the commission on developments in commodity futures contracts and commodity futures options (collectively known as contracts), the manner of trading and the influence of trading in contracts on Ontario's economy.

Membership:  The board is composed of not more than five members, all of whom are appointed by the Minister. The Ontario Securities Commission may designate a member of the board to be its chair.

Term:  There is no limitation in legislation.

Meetings:  Meetings are convened generally twice a year at the offices of the commission. A limited amount of time is required to prepare for meetings. No travel has been required to date.

Requirements:  Industry experience as either clients and/or dealers is desirable
