Function:  The Independent Police Review Director manages complaints made by members of the public about the policies of or services provided by a police force or about the conduct of a police officer in accordance with Part V and the regulations of the Act, and exercises such powers and performs such duties as may be prescribed by regulation under the Act.

Membership:  The Lieutenant Governor in Council, on the recommendation of the Attorney General, appoints the Independent Police Review Director.

Term:  There is no limitation in legislation.

Requirements:  A person who is a police officer or former police officer shall not be appointed as Independent Police Review Director.
